Rufus was too consumed with his thoughts against that goddess they had been sent to who seemed to thinks he was no threat to her in terms of his troublemaking which of course meant a reprise from him showing her that she was wrong.
He didn’t even notice that the others had left for a while. When he did finally notice he ran out to figure out where they had gone. He had heard what had happened to his Dad in Asgard and would rather not be completely by himself.
