Team Meeting
Each member of X-Factor receives word of the meeting at X-Factor Plaza's Boardroom with instructions to attend as soon as possible on a matter of urgency. Julian has some minor refreshments set up, but doesn't have the usual feast ready; they may need to move quickly regarding this matter.

Julian waits in the boardroom for the team to arrive.

They'll all notice immediately that there are no cameras in sight.

	Jason walked in and took his seat. He looked slightly confused at the downgraded appearance of the room, bit said nothing. He was fairly busy with thinking up a new line of clothes for the summer. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Harry was kind of glad not to have to deal with cameras he still didn't like them and was glad whenever he could possibly get away from them. He wasn't entirely sure what was going on and had to admit to being curious about all of this now. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Thank you all for coming so quickly." Julian says, looking at everyone. "Lisa has a situation she wants to bring to everyone's attention, which DJ and Pauline will elaborate upon." Julian says, letting Lisa take the floor without further preamble. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Lisa runs a hand down her face and clears her throat. "You probably remember the concerns I voiced about a growing situation in District X. It's gotten a lot worse."

She goes into as much detail as she has available about the suspected disappearances, the increase in drug trafficking, alleged mutant crime, and arrests. She also brings up how she and Pauline interviewed local residents.

"We must have hit a nerve somewhere, because someone either tried to kill me, or at least wanted me to know they could. I got attacked outside my home by.." She pauses. "Someone who could fake being a speedster. MGH-induced powers 'smell' like rancid meat compared to homegrown ones." She explains with finger-quotes. "They slammed me into a wall and pushed me down the block against it. If I hadn't siphoned off some super-strength earlier in the day, most of me would have stayed on the wall." She goes on to specifically quote the attacker's warning.

"So they were either watching me all day and it was a genuine warning, or it was a botched hit and the guy tried to find a spin for it." She looks around the table. "Julian has had me keep the police out of it for now."

"I've asked Lisa not to discuss this with the police for a couple of reasons. The main one is that we don't know /who/ in the department isn't on the take...yet. A word in the wrong ear might get any or all of us visits from people who want to kill us." Julian says.

"More than that, speaking up tells them that they got to us and gives them time to cover their tracks so that any investigation started up can turn up no real evidence of wrongdoing.

I'm something of a fan of the old-fashioned sucker punch, as long as it knocks our opposition out." Julian says.

	"Jason and Harry both have the right of it. We need solid proof of wrong-doing before we can take this public. An event of some kind sounds like a great idea, but I'd like DJ to give us his ideas on what he thinks will work." Julian says. (Reply to this)(Parent)
