Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (X-Men and X-Force)
Christmas. Yule. Saturnalia. Dies Natalis Solis Invicti. Many cultures have celebrated and still celebrate a winter festival. There have been many names for it over the millennia. No matter the name it is a time to come together and celebrate with feasts and gifts with friends and loved ones.

Each culture has a legendary figure who would deliver gifts to children during this time. In Russia and some Slavic cultures he is known as Ded Moroz, Grandfather Frost, and comes not on Christmas but on New Year’s along with his granddaughter Snegurochka, or ‘”Snow Maiden”. In the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe he is known as Father Christmas. In the Netherlands and Belgium he is known as Saint Nicholas or “Sinterklaas” and in France he is known as Père Noël. In the United States we know him as Santa Claus.

No matter the name or who is delivering gifts, it is the season of peace, joy and togetherness. It is the season for thinking about loved ones, friends and those less fortunate. It is a time to witness the goodness and generosity the human race is capable of. It is a time for peace on Earth and goodwill toward man.

	When Rose arrives, she finds Joey decorating her room in the Christmas spirit. There's a small tree on her dresser along with a "Merry Christmas, Babe!" banner on the south wall over her bed. "Hey, you! You're just in time. How are you feelin'?" Joey asks. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I know you're not big on girly stuff, but I saw this and had to get it for you." Joey says, handing her a small, square box.

"Merry Christmas, Babe. I love you." he says.

	Braddock managed to ~~steal~~ obtain some nice ruby earrings for Gretchen that matched the color of her hair. He also bought the ingredients to make her hush puppies as a Christmas Eve snack. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Gretchen had gotten new coats for Braddock, Rose, and Anastasia, and she'd manage to organize some catfish, so she and Brad could snack together.

For Alt-Dad and Mina and various others, she'd asked to borrow the Danger Room, consulted with a few people, and spent some time reconstructing the Scarlet Pimpernel and Prisoner of Zenda programs from back home. She'd been surprised to find they didn't have it here, although they had a few that weren't at home.

Cait had given out the treats for Saturnalia, but it didn't stop her from making more stuff for Christmas. She made brigadeiros and beijinho de Cocos for everyone.

For Aaron she got him a book on Greek Mythology and a book on Roman festivals and holidays. He of course got more of the candies than anyone else.

Corey got trees planted in his name and the certificate sent to him. There was also a goat bought for a village as well.

Sylvie got a new blue scarf.

Izzy got a new red scarf.

Rufus got a gift card to Gamestop.

Between X-Force and designing dresses for the winter formal, Chris was having something of a gift-card holiday for most of the Institute residents, but she still came up with a few specialty items.

Corey got a box of shade-grown chocolate and a donation made in his name to sustainable agricultural efforts.

X-Force all got clothing of her own design. A new full-length leather jacket for Joey, thoroughly tested against just about any degree of heat with her father's help. "Just try not to get thrown into the sun."

Tina got a cardigan and a copy of "Brit-think / Ameri-think" signed by the author.

Rose got a steak of the month club membership from Omaha Steaks for a year, along with new combat boots, custom detailed.

Annie got a black silk choker with rhinestone accents, and a matching belt.

She sent a new pair of Jimmy Choos to Vernique, and an iron torc with runes she'd had made to Halbjorn.

Rachel mostly gotten gifts for her closest circle of friends and family: her parents (How to Relax--a book--for her dad, and a small crystal statue she'd forged with molecular telekinesis for her mom), Nathan, Rachel, Anastasia (mall gift card), Rose (yes, she had to, cowboy hat).

For her friends, this was primarily Lyta, Corey and Cait, Sylvie, Misha, and Joe. (a combination of gift cards and/or charitable donations as it warranted).

And, of course, she shopped for her "Harem", as Chris liked to put it. A gift certificate to an autoparts store for David, a philosophy book for Starbridge, and a catnip scented yarn ball for Torn Ear (and also small phoenix figurine).

"But I think you two need to be nice to each other. You're sisters, the both of you. No matter who your old man is, you share a mom and family is important. Someday, you two are gonna need each other. It doesn't do either of you any good to be enemies." he says.

I hear your respective fathers used to do the same thing, on occasion." Joey grins.

"You and Ana-Pants get along okay, and she's your sister, too. She's been here less time than Rose has. So has Cassidy, who's your new cousin, from what I heard. Seems like you took to him easy enough, so what's your real beef with Rose?" Joey asks.

"Is it because your old man doesn't care much for her or somethin' else?"

	Corey adored everything he got when he came by to visit, thanked everyone profusely, and presented everybody with snacks and/or little stone portraits. Except Cait and Rufus. Rufus got a little painted sign for the door to his room that said "Caution: Contents Hot." For Cait, he'd made a set of coaster-sized snowflake sculptures. (Reply to this)

While Cassidy doesn't have money to buy Christmas presents, Uncle Scott did fill his request for several Christmas cards. He provides one to all of his friends and his new family members (except for his dad and Andrew, because Cassidy isn't sure he's ready for that).

Cassidy also creates a card for Mina and her father, but isn't certain he should give it to them...considering the role he plays in their lives.

The other members of X-Force receive cards, even Rose. Rose's is left under her door and Cassidy leaves the area before she gets wind of his scent.

He resolves to give Izzy her card when they reach Scotland, along with the cards for Moira, Danielle, Lucas and his mother and grandfather.

Before he leaves, though, Cassidy Summers finds himself at Jake's headstone, delivering the last of his Christmas cards.

"I haven't forgotten you and I never will, Jake. I hope that Christmas is better in Heaven than here on Earth and that the weather isn't too cold." Cassidy says.

"I have to go, but I'll talk to you again soon." he says, turning to leave.

	Aaron got Cait Disneynature: Oceans and a simple penguin pendent necklace. He had also gotten a couple of other things for friends and had attempted to make his mom’s recipe for snickerdoodles which hadn’t turned out to bad but she was clearly a hell of a lot better than him. He would probably end up visiting her for a few days during the holidays. (Reply to this)

For the holidays Rufus got people coupons that could work for a free prank on someone or a day without getting pranked if it was in his power to do so.

He had also gotten some extra things for a few people too.

For Lulu he had gotten a thirty dollar movie theater gift card.

For Corey he put a little extra effort into finding shade grown hot coco mix with the certification to proof it was as he liked for the cold days in the winter.

For Cait he had gotten a cookie book.

Ellie got some glitter to replace some that had spontaneously combusted.

Misha had gift cards to all the entertainments in Salem Center (pizza, movies, arcade) for all of his X family, along with boxes of Godiva truffles for the girls.

Dad got his usual imported German beer. The old man always asked for it.

He had spa cards and chocolates for Mom, Anya and Eliza, game shop gift card for James, and Baby's First Motorcycle book for the Nick or Eddie or whatever they were calling the kid this week. From what little he'd heard, it was as bad as Anya changing her codename every week.

His gift to Lyta was wrapped and ready for when he saw her next. Included in the long, flat jewelry box was a confirmation email of two weeks at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris to go along with the first class tickets he'd given her for her birthday.
