Natasha called each of the kids, the Avengers, Rhodey and Pepper to let them all know Tony woke up for a brief period and was coherent enough to have a short conversation.

	Anya had arrived at SHIELD medical as soon as the call from Mom had come. Dad was awake and that was always good news. Mom had given her a few warnings about what she could not mention. Namely the company and her "aunt". Dad was sleeping when she arrived so she took up a position in a chair next to the bed and waited. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Anya looked away. Damn him for asking that. Of all the questions he could ask, he asked that one. She looked back at him. This was Dad. She couldn't lie to Dad. Well, she could, she just didn't want to. Anya had never lied to her father in her life and the second she did, the bond and trust between them would be weakened.

"Look, Mom's going to kill me dead dead for telling you because she's worried about you, but there's been some problems. Namely a bastard Stark showing up."

"We couldn't get that lucky. Congratulations, Dad. You have a half-sister. She's Howard's bastard. Came in, took the company. Uncle Rhodey and I were booted out right away. Pepper's only still there because some on the board were smart enough to realize that she's invaluable to the company. Everyone else loyal to you have been let go or shuffled off to some of the small subsidiaries."

	"Yes. We ran into "Auntie" at a cocktail party and she told him. Uncle Rhodey and I locked down all the computers and the labs before we left. They're still trying to get the computers back to where they were and so far she hasn't gotten into the lab." She put her hand on his. "She's a very big problem," Anya said as she pulled a flash drive out of a pocket. "I dug up all that I could on her. She rose through the ranks of a private security company. Married a senator and used her political connections to get government contacts. She had most the board on her side after a few minutes and has way too many connections in Washington."

This was her father and she knew him better than just about anyone else. Anya pulled a small laptop out of her bag and placed it and the flash drive on the small table next to the bed. Her mother was already going to kill her for telling him, giving him things to do wouldn't get her any more dead.

"Please don't try to push yourself and take it easy on Mom. She's on her last few nerves and has been in here since she climbed out of her hospital bed. Tell me what else you need me to do. I'll be your gopher until you get out of here."

As if he could ever let her down. It didn't matter what he did, he was always Dad. He had been the one that had always been there for her.

"My word, Dad, but if there's anything you need you let me know. Besides, we've been a little busy with attacks for me to be doing much with the company or Auntie. I can get any information for you and if you don't leave this bed just maybe Mom will let us both live."

She smiled. "Just take your time and heal and let the new nanites do their job. You gave us a good scare." She had been more scared about losing her father than she'd ever admit.
