News Broadcast: Attacks on Atlantis and Wakanda
Staggered and vague reports are coming that Dr. Doom has now followed his unprovoked aggression against neighboring Symkaria with attacks against Atlantis and Wakanda. As both of these nations are insular and isolated, these reports have been difficult to confirm, and no public announcements have been made by any of the governments involved. There are even rumors that the respective kings of Atlantis and Wakanda are missing in action.

Even though all the reported victims so far have been isolated or marginalized nations, the U.N. and various governments around the world are reported to be in an uproar trying to decide what action to take.

"Well, I was looking at trying to expand by company into some of the markets that Doom is currently expanding himself into, darling. I hear it's hard to deal with word-dominating psychopaths, so maybe I'll just keep to myself over here." Julian says.

"I'm also debating the idea of volunteering X-Factor to help with relief efforts or other things, but right now it's a thought. I want to see what happens before I make any decisions." Julian tells her.

"I dunno..." She slips her arms around his shoulders, tugging him to rest his head on her lap, playing with his hair. "The take over the world types tend to keep what they want right out in front. Makes things much simpler than dealing with the vast majority of people just pretending to be civil."

Lisa smooths her hands across his shoulders, still trying to pick apart the details of him. He was infuriatingly complex. "But yeah.. you can stay put."

Julian has never let anyone treat him the way Lisa treats him; most women didn't even make it to week two before being shown their walking papers, but she was still here. He relaxes against her and smiles, noting that she seems to be worried about him.

Or something like it.

"Now, I wuld believe that Doom was being up front with his particular brand of dementia if I hadn't read news stories about him growing up. The man isn't a fool by any means and he has a great amount of personal power at his command. A man like Doom would never settle for just his neighboring country when there are resources around the globe that could be taken." Julian says, admiring Doom's panache.

"He's faced every major band of heroes out there and still hasn't been permanently deposed. Moreover, he's still /free/. No, there has to be something else going on.

If it was me, I'd definitely make sure everyone was focused on my shock and awe campaign while I used my cloak and dagger to achieve my other ends." Julian says, smiling up at her for a moment, before looking at the TV again.

"He has to know that Namor and the Black Panther are the last two men in the world who would take attacks on their sovereignty lying down. Attacking /one/ is one thing, but attacking /both/ is foolish, when it could surmised that they would consider an alliance to stop him.

Yes, he has a plan. But what?"

Lisa runs a nail back and forth along the edge of his ear, thinking.

"Is there any proof it's really him? I mean... he's a monster, but not crazy, right?" She licks her lips.

"Let's go purely into the hypothetical here. Let's say I'm a crazy power-mad dictator, and there are people I don't like. I stab at them, and maybe I'm trying to draw them out into attacking me, because there's something they have that I want. That works for Wakanda and Atlantis, but... kicking the hornet's nest right next door? It doesn't fit with the others."

She narrows her gaze on the news report and shakes her head. "Something stinks. I just can't say what brand of shit it is."

Julian chuckles at Lisa's euphemism. She's bold and speaks her mind, which he likes.

"He's using his signature soliders, Lisa. I don't see a reason to assume it's not. That's how conspiracy theories get started. However, your idea of Doom using this as a feint to get something else sounds like a possibility. Unfortunately, the only person who could know what Doom wants is Doom.

He also has to believe he can hold off a three-pronged retaliation from those he's attacking. I wish I knew more so as to end the speculation." Julian says.

She curls a lip. "I don't like robots, just because of that. People, you can get tells from. You can look them in the eye. Robots can look the same on the outside and have been totally changed inside. I say Doom's behind part or none of these attacks. Not all three. Symkaria by itself, or Wakanda plus Atlantis."

She shrugs, sliding her fingers through his hair. "I'm not some genius type. I just know this doesn't fit."

"I must say, I like it when you think critically. It's a side of you that many people don't see. I find it attractive." Julian says.

"You're right, it doesn't fit. Until we know more, however, we do nothing. While that will take another attack, if it comes, that's the price that must be paid." Julian says.

He reminds himself to call Andrew for his take on all of this.

Lisa lets those words sink in, mulling them over. He was certainly cute enough, good in bed, and gave her just about everything he wanted. She hadn't been interested in letting anyone get close for quite a while though.

She knew better than to wonder what was the worst that could happen though.

She leaned over, hair spilling over her shoulders and draping around his head, kissing his forehead softly. "Let's give that a whirl then, boss. See where it goes."

	The kisses upon his forehead cause his eyes to close as he relaxes completely in her arms. A small voice inside him says that this is a terrible idea, one he'll live to regret. "We'll see where it goes then." he whispers and kisses her soundly. (Reply to this)(Parent)
