A Night At Mac's
Greg stepped off the small stage and headed for the bar. The final set was over and he had the rest of the night free. A friend of his had called earlier in the evening and asked if he wanted to sit in on drums for a friend of his. Greg was getting known as the go to guy when a band member bailed at the last second.

Greg didn't mind. He liked playing and when he wasn't playing he sat in clubs and watched others play. The extra cash didn't hurt at all, but cash wasn't something that Greg paid much attention to. Music had become his life's passion and thankfully he had the means to pursue it.

Mac's was was pretty full, Greg managed to find an empty bar stool and slid onto it. He motioned to the bartender and a moment later a glass of Scotch was set in front of it. He wanted a smoke, but the stupid city had banned smoking in all bars and restaurants. After his drink he'd go outside to have a quick smoke.

Matt decides that he'll ask Shelly to come to Mac's sometime soon just to get her out of the house. Since the whole thing with Dracula went down, she was leaving the house to go to work and go home, and little else. Matt kept an eye on her, just to make sure no more vampires showed up trying to finish the job.

Matt walks into the bar in his trademark duster, black shirt and blue jeans. He'd left his staff in the car, but he did have his blasting rod on him just in case. When he sees Greg at the bar, he's initially wary, but decides to say hello and check upon the guy.

"Greg? Hey, how's it goin'?" Matt asks. "This seat taken?"

	"About the same. Working and such. Checking in on Shelly Drumm. Her father blames me for the entire thing with Dracula, so it's nice to have a powerful houngan looking for a reason to hex you to death." Matt says. 	"Sounds like fun. How is she?" he asked. Shelly was nice enough the few times Greg had met her. "I should check on Michelle." He hadn't seen her since that night and he did worry about her. "She's doing all right, though she's still shaken up about everything. She's trying to deal with it." he says.

"Michelle's working at some theme bar where people like the idea of being vampire groupies. She works the bar." Matt tells him. He might have been keeping tabs on everyone who'd been there, just to be on the safe side, in case they ever needed to get together again.

"You should stop in and see her. Pretty sure she wouldn't mind." Matt says.

He takes another drink and orders a steak sandwich and fries from Mac, who grunts in acknowledgment.

"You hungry?" he asks Greg.

"I'm set thanks," he said and picked up the drink the bartender just placed in front of him.

"I'm glad to hear they're okay." Greg hadn't made contact with anyone. He didn't think they would want anything to do with him. They each had their uniqueness, but the others at least didn't try to kill each other. Greg's curse was bad enough, but the out of control state he could go in made it ten times worse. He had been keeping his distance for a reason.

"Probably better that I don't."

Matt could understand why Greg might avoid the others and didn't really blame him, though, he also wanted to help Greg out if he could, because living in fear of going apeshit wasn't anyway to live at all.

"Hey, man, maybe there's a way to help you and no one's found it just yet. Just means we'd need to try. You were definitely an asset back there, before things got crazy, but I blame that on Dracula." Matt says.

He pauses for a moment to finish his drink and ask for a refill.

"I plan on going after Dracula again, just so you know. I'm gonna end this thing with him, and we have ourselves a good group. Besides, Chicago itself is in a lot of danger as it is. Something needs to be done." Matt tells him.

"Think about it and let me know. You don't have to do try to figure it out by yourself." he says.

	"I'll keep that in mind. It's not going to be right now, because I need to do some research and get more info on how to stop him. But when it's time to move, you're in." Matt says. "Way I hear it, someone thought they were undoing one spell and ended up undoing the kill all vamps spell." Matt says, getting his new drink and food at the same time.

"Yeah, she's pretty smart and a decent hand in a combat." he says. "A little eccentric, but who isn't these days. She's a college student, though, so who knows if she can be around when necessary?

But I'm willing to look at just about anyone to replace Shelly. She doesn't need to be involved in us going after Dracula again." he says.

Of course, getting the lease for a new office is going to be a pain in the ass, and getting money for the rent more so if work doesn't start rolling in. "Your parents live here in town? "Yeah, real new, just a couple of weeks, actually. Still getting all my stuff in from New York. I worked with Lynch when she was NYPD, and I was working on a case that ended up leading me here." Matt elaborates.

"I've just got to get my name out there and get business drummed up. Hopefully Chicago's just as good for the P.I. business as New York was." he says, munching a fry.

	"God, I hate cheating spouse cases. You're basically getting paid off of someone's misery. Why even get married if you're just gonna cheat?" Matt asks rhetorically.
