He watches in horror as it levels its weapon. It has her practically in hand, and Ellie doesn't look like she's in any shape to teleport. He never should have brought the kids here...
A moment ago, he was too slow. Fast, but certainly not able to match the cat's blasters. That was a moment ago. In a blur, he darts into the way of the blast, which torches his shirt, but doesn't move Daniel as he interposes himself between Ellie and the robot in a desperate instant.
"Alright ya bucket of bolts, ITS CLOBBERIN' TIME!"
