Girl Talk!
Melissa Frost knew she'd been a Bad Friend. Both she and May had been so busy since before the end of the semester that they hadn't gone out to do anything or keep up with each other's lives. Melissa felt bad about that, even though her reasons had to do with a hot girlfriend and killing people, two things she greatly enjoyed.

However, it was now time to put on her "normal" face and rebuild the bridge with her BFF, May "Pretty" Parker.

She shifts the bag of Big Nick's burgers in her hand knocks on the door, thinking about how funny it would be to disturb May while she's "gettin' her groove on" with a guy.

Nope. No "gettin' her groove on" with a guy here, just lots of studying to be done here. Which lately, it seemed like it was all May ever did. Study. And fight crime as Spider-Girl.

"Coming!" She said, jumping up from her desk, happy to have a reason to tear herself away from studying, even if it was just for a couple of minutes.

"Mel!" She said, wrapping her absentee best friend in a hug when she opened the door. "And here I was starting to think that you'd been abducted by aliens or something." And there's that patented Parker Smirk.

"No, not aliens." Melissa says playfully. Kelly was definitely NOT an alien.

"I feel really bad that I've been M.I.A. so I brought you food because I figured you'd be in your dorm room, studying on a night when you should be having fun. I have so much to tell you." Melissa says, giving May the bag.

"I got you your favorite burger." she says.

"Hey, I heard there was a shooting at Midtown High not long ago. Doesn't your brother go there? He wasn't caught up in that, was he?" she asks.

"Not aliens then?" Yup, she was going to find EXACTLY what had been keeping Mel so busy lately.

"Come in then," May said, "Grab a patch of floor. Or bed. Whatever works. I've got some soda in the fridge."

May sat down on the bed. "Yeah. He was. His best friend didn't make it. He's still pretty shook up about it. I can't help but be a little worried about him. He's my little brother, you know?"

"I'll tell you all about it." she says.

Melissa steps inside, smiling at her friend and takes up a seat on the floor.

"That's terrible. I feel so bad for him. Is there anything I can do?" she asks. Of course, she's going to weave a protective spell over the boy tonight as soon as she can, but if she can find out who did this, there's going to be one less killer in this city.

"Don't worry. I'll keep his hormones properly corralled." Melissa grins.

Melissa grabs a burger and starts to eat, debating how to talk to her best friend about this.

"So...if I tell you something about me...I understand if you won't want to be friends anymore...but you should know. It kind of affects our friendship." Melissa says, a note of hesitation in her tone.

Melissa took a deep breath. Here goes nothing...

"Okay, the reason I've been so out of touch is because I met someone. Not in the normal way, though. It was actually at Big Nick's, ironically, and we both love the place." she says.

"The thing is...I met a girl. I've been dating a girl for the past few months. Now, I like guys too, but...I like this girl. Kelly's really sweet and she treats me well." Melissa says, trying to gauge her best friend's reaction to the news.

"We have fun together, and she...she really gets me and where I come from. Am I making any sense here?" she asks.

"That's awesome Mel," May said with a grin. "I'm glad you found someone, but you shouldn't have been afraid to tell me. I know some people might have a problem with you being into girls, but you can't help who you're attracted to, right? You're my best friend, and I'm not going to stop hanging out with you because you just HAPPEN to be into girls."

Her grin got wider. "Which means, of course, I have to give the standard best friend seal of approval now."

Melissa lets out an audible breath and relaxes visibly. She should have known that May would accept her; that's what best friends did. Melissa actually reaches out and hugs her BFF.

"Oh, you have no idea how happy I am to hear that, Pretty Parker." Melissa says.

"Kelly wants to meet you, too, actually. I've talked about you to her a bit, so she wants to put a name to a face." Mel says.

"Oh, I had another thing to ask you, since we're here. How much do you like this dorm room?" Melissa asks.

May returned the hug. "Next time, just tell me, okay? I'm a little insulted that you doubted me," she chuckled a little.

"I'd love to get to know her. I'm sure she's great."

"It's...okay. It's not a five-star hotel, but it'll do for my college years. Though I could live without the nosy roommate."

"Next time, I'll tell you. I promise." she says.

"Well, what if you could? I'm going to be going out of town soon to deal with some things from my mother's estate, and I'm not sure how long I'll be gone. But my apartment would be empty and going to waste, and I don't want that to happen.

There's a lot more space than you've got here, no nosy roommate, and it's close to the school. Also, it's got rooftop access for those nights when you just wanna look up at the stars." Melissa says.

"Oh, and you could stay rent-free. It's paid up." Melissa mentions. She decides not to tell her friend outright that she owns the brownstone itself, because that just invites questions that neither of them want to ask or answer.

"Yep. Rent and utilities are taken care of. You'd just need to move your things in and get settled." Melissa says.

"I'll be leaving pretty soon, but I'll help you move if you want, unless you've got it covered." Melissa says.

Melissa grins very suggestively now, turning over how to do so in her head.

Technically, May DID to more than school and sports, Mel just didn't know that. As much as she trusted Mel, she didn't really want to put her friend's safety in danger by telling her that she was a superhero by night.

"Now, we both know that there is no end to the guys who would go out with you if you just crooked your finger at them.
