Moving Day
For someone who'd been seeing the same girl for two years, Jack was putting a lot of thought into which drawers he should empty for Kal. The right side, or the left? The right side or the left of the closet? What should he pack up for storage so she would have enough space? Did he have time before she arrived with her first(?) load of things?

He wanted to get this right, and he could just hear Kalypso tell him it didn't matter. It most likely didn't. Sharing had never been their problem.

Face it, Murdock, you want to make sure she doesn't regret moving in.

He went with the same side she slept on when she stayed over... the middle. Right where he liked to sleep, holding on to carry her into his dreams.

One saving grace was that Kal didn't have a lot of possessions. She had clothes, some books and a laptop. She wasn't one for collecting things. That was Mom's department.

Best part was that she could get it all in one trip. Not by car or cab of course, but a little telekinesis and some flight and the job was done. It took a few minutes to get to Jack's and Kal touched down lightly on the fire escape, her belongings floating next to her.

She knocked on the window.

	Jack was halfway into the closet pushing stuff to one side, and yanking out a few of his older shirts to get rid of, when he heard the knock. He leaned back to look out at his window visitor. Kal smiled brightly. "Yes, sir. I really like the sound of that. If you'll step back, I'll get this stuff inside."

It was strange. She was nervous for some weird reason. Sure they had been together for two years, but moving in together was a big step. Though she did get an "It's about time" from her mother. Kal was honestly surprised Sersi hadn't moved everything over herself. Her mother was like that.

	He stepped back as requested. "I cleared some space, but feel free to make any changes you want. Except for my drafting table." He had it in the absolute best light in the small apartment, though he would move it if she asked. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Her arms wrapped around him and she kissed him. Moving in and being with him felt right. "I did," she said when the kiss ended. "She was a little happy. She offered to help me move and of course redecorate the place. I told her that after we're settled she can come over and not before." Kal smiled. "Me. That's the only thing you have to do. "Well," he opened the case. "Mom said she hoped I knew what I was doing and reminded me that if I insisted on making her a grandmother, she expected us to consider moving to San Francisco so she could have a hand in raising the baby. Dad said he thought you were a very fine person and that he had faith we would be happy as long as we were willing to accept the each other's differences."
