Familiar Faces.
Tina hadn't seen Cassidy since she lost consciousness in the Blackbird on the way home after Fargo and to say that it was a less-than-good way to see someone last was an understatement.  It was made worse by Jake's death and while Tina was internally grieving that pretty hard---Jake had been one of her few friends--she knew Cassidy had to be going out of his mind.  He had not gotten off on a good foot.  Now that she was leaving for a mission, she knew she couldn't just go away for a bit without seeing him so after she met with Scott, Tina decided to track him down.

"Yeah, I have." Her face clouded. "He wasn't exactly thrilled at how banged up I was--and he saw me after I was healed up a great deal. I had to tell him a lie about how things went down. Since I tend to come home broken most of the time he's been a little overprotective since."

"Because someone has to stand up for the people who have no one else to stand up for them. There's a whole world of 'regular people' who want mutants like us dead and I don't think that's right or fair. If I can save just one life, anything that's happened to me is more than worth it."

"It doesn't sound very worth it if you die and people you love have to miss you afterward." Cassidy says. He's not being contrary, but he doesn't quite understand the reasoning behind it.

"You're a really brave person, though. Just be careful, okay? There might be other people like me out there who need you to come and save them." Cassidy says.

"It's a date, then. A long term date." Tina slipped an arm around him and hugged him, reassurance that it was all going to be okay.

Cassidy lets himself be hugged, not feeling weird about it. Tina's the first person to ever hug him, so it's kind of nice.

"Okay. A long-term date." he smiles, eating his burrito.
