The Whims and Machinations of Babes
Zoey had a plan. It was a good plan. No. It was a great plan. No. It wasn't just a plan. It was THE Plan. The plan of all plans. She just had to find a way to get it done.

The idea came when she saw her...Mom called them housemates...but they were really her friends.... Very tall and very strong friends. She was the only girl in her class who had a friend who could lift a boulder and throw it very far. Zoey had watched Svalin and Halbjorn do it. It was awesome!

She couldn't wait to go back to school to tell her classmates about her newest friends. None of them had friends like she did. Maybe Asleif would go to school with her one day and show Zoey's classmates real magic. Not the stupid kind that Jessica had at her birthday party. Zoey had totally seen the man hiding things in his hands and sleeves. The man was lame compared to Asleif.

The fireworks on the Fourth of July were just awesome. Totally awesome. She was glad she had the idea to ask Asleif to make fireworks.

Idea. The idea for today and for The Plan came to her while she watched Svalin practicing with a sword. A REAL sword and not some lame fake one. Svalin had one, so did Aridis and Halbjorn. Asleif didn't seem to like them for some reason. Zoey thought they were really cool and Mom had said she was not allowed to touch them. Ever. She wondered what Mom had against swords. Svalin said that she had a sword when she was Zoey's age. She wanted one too.

Right. The idea. Mom had taken her out to dinner to a place with swords and horses once. Middle Times or something like that. Zoey knew it would be a great place to take her new friends. They would love it. They had to.

She ran and asked Mom if they could go. Mom said yes, but Zoey had to ask the others if they wanted to go. Mom went on about how she couldn't talk or speak for others. Zoey only heard the first part of it.

She skipped around the grounds looking for Asleif or any of the others.

	Ohu smiles. This is great fun. But it's time to upgrade the scene. He gestures to their surroundings, and the castle walls melt away, revealing a beautiful field, with verdant woods in the distance. Prancing nearby are pegasi and unicorns at play. That last part was there just for Zoey. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"But what are knights," Asleif said, then considered her siblings, "and... adventurers, without beasts to slay?"

First, however, she placed a magical shield around her mortal companions, then one around the stands themselves. No need to senselessly get the mortals killed.

It was not a true dragon that appeared, it had no wings to speak up, but a lizard of such proportions was still rather dangerous indeed. Especially since it looked like it had just woken up from a nap.

	Zoey was thrilled at the sight of the forest and unicorns and pegasi, but when the dragon appeared she got scared. She did the only thing a five year old would do. She climbed into Asleif's lap and wrapped her arms around her in a very tight hug. She buried her face in Asleif's neck. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Marlow's face went blank for a moment before she spoke. Mumbled really, in a voice pitched low and a touch masculine. Body vanish and atoms race. With the speed of thought through time and space. She disappeared from her seat and reappeared near the exits. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Oh....My God." Grffen just looks over this whole thing. He wants to shout at everyone to stop. But there's no way to stop Aridis and Svalin once they get started, he notes. The twin sisters are like an on coming storm.

"Syd? Did you...get through to the gentleman Mr Stark mentioned as a contact if we needed help?" His voice is a touch panicked but he seems to be mostly in control.

Amazingly, Asleif almost found herself feeling regret. She certainly had not meant to upset the child. Mortals were, typically, fair game, but even she understood there were lines you did not cross with children.

"Aye, small mortal. I canst banish it from this sphere."

She slipped an arm free, waving mystical symbols in the air, before a bolt of magical energy lanced out. It struck the giant lizard, which shimmer for a moment as Asleif spent greater energy into her spell, chanting under her breath. In a flash of light it was gone, replaced by a fluffy and rather harmless rabbit.
