Not clogging the filter
"Too hot..." Jake groans to the sky in general. 90+ degree weather plus humidity is bad enough for some people. But for a young man covered in fur...it's bad. As such, Jake has come out to the pool. Definitely a sign that the heat is bad...Jake took off his shirt! That's a shock. The DarkForce wielding mutant is just in bright red board shorts and floating lazily around the pool this warm afternoon.

Jake blinks at this, giving a confused little expression. "You don't? Why not?" he asks.

She pauses at the question, then smirks.

"Because normal doesn't interest me." She swims past him, watching him with a ponderous expression.

Jake looks up thoughtfully, treading water as he does. "But, isn't normal subjective? I mean..." he gives his bottom lip a little worrying with a fang before going on. "Isn't what you call 'non-standard' actually 'normal' for you?"

"That's the point." Chris replies, transforming.

"I'm...not human, but I'm not a mutant either. I'm whatever comes from Dad swimming in irregular particle radiation for a decade, plus the mystic whatever surrounding Mom. Normal was never an option for me, so I don't waste my time on what most of the world considers normal."

Jake jumps at the transformation and ends up falling under the water again. He sputters when he resurfaces, just a bit surprised.

"Oh. I guess that makes sense," he says.
