Anya had spent the past week in S.H.I.E.L.D. medical sitting outside the isolation ward where her parents were. Mom was improving and the doctors said they were going to take her off the medication keeping her unconscious in the next day or so. Her healing factor, as slight as it was, was doing its job and she was significantly healed.

Dad was a completely different story. He was stable, but wasn't really making any progress. Anya spent every waking moment searching her father's private computers for information on the nanites inside of him. Unfortunately there were teraflops worth of data to go through and she wasn't any closer to finding the information she needed. It was essential to either upgrade the nanites inside of him and if she couldn't do that, she had to disable them so newer generation nanites could be introduced into his system. If both were active at the same time they could see the other as foreign invaders and destroy each other.

A week of searching and she wasn't any closer to helping her father. She slept when she absolutely couldn't stay awake any longer and she showered when her siblings forced her to take a break. Constant contact with Pepper and Uncle Rhodey was kept and they kept her abreast of what was going on with the company. They had managed to put out the fires and kept things running smoothly for the past week. Today was a board meeting to formally select an acting CEO until her father made a recovery. If he...Anya stopped herself from thinking that. Dad would get better and would be back to running the company again.

When Pepper called her this morning, Anya returned home, showered, put on a suit and headed into the company. Right now she was in Pepper's office and the two women were waiting for Rhodey to show before going into the board meeting. Anya stared at her laptop screen and kept searching through computer files.

"I've already initiated the lockdown protocols. Everything was backed up to the server at home. The central computer core is locked and only you and Pepper can access it together. The labs with the sensitive projects are locked as well. She won't be able to access anything unless you and Pepper give her access." Anya paused. "If she gets to be too much, we have the wildfire protocols to wipe everything."

"Good job," Rhodey said, genuinely impressed. There was no denying the girl was Tony and 'tasha's.

He nodded. "Good. We just need to get the old armors out of storage then."

"We can't. The room went into total lockdown the second Dad got hurt. The system is biometrically wired to his system. The second he got hurt, the room locked down and no one except him can get in."

"We need to take care of the computer in his office, but first I need you to move some money around. You, Dad and Pepper are the only ones with access to move money from the Foundation. I need you to move two years worth of operating costs for the Avengers into an offshore account. It won't take her long to realize that there's more than just Stark Inc, if she hasn't already and we can't let the Avengers fall apart because the company was taken over."

Rhodey frowned. Damn. Just like Tony, again, playing things way to close. They should be safe, but he'd feel whole damn lot safer if they could have been gotten off-site.

And unfortunately, Anya was right. While the Foundation was generally set-up to continue funding the Avengers in perpetuity, it was also equally reliant on its own separate board of directors and private donations (and considerable Stark money), well... if this so-called sister could talk the board here against Tony... Supposedly foolproof, but none of that had taken new relatives into account.

"Done and done."

"We also need to warn those who are loyal to my Dad. I figure it won't take her long to go through the rank and file, replacing anyone loyal to my Dad with someone loyal to her."

She sighed heavily. "This really sucks. Dad needs to get better like yesterday."

"I'll talk to Bethany and Mrs. Arbogast. Between the two of them, the news will spread fast."

He pulled Anya into a hug. "He's stared death in the face before and kicked him in the balls, Anya. He'll make it back from this."

Anya returned the hug. "I know. We shouldn't have to deal with this on top of Dad and Mom being out of action."

A thought occurred to her. While it was a very nice thought, it was one that could be very bad and have major consequences. "The doctors said Mom will be awake today or tomorrow," she said as she pulled away. "Might be best to not tell her about this. At least right away." Anya loved her mother, but she didn't doubt her mother would take a more direct approach to dealing with "auntie" and the last thing the company needed was CEO's being assassinated.

"She won't hear it from me. Not right away, anyway," he said. Maybe it was time to call it a few friends, do a little dirt digging anyway. Been too long since he'd gotten his hands dirty.

"We'll get through this. I promise."

"Good. I love the woman, but she may be a little too trigger happy for a little while." If anything, Mom's methods were direct and simple. Sometimes that was better.

"I know we will it's just frustrating. We better get moving before she has security come and toss us out."

"Yeah. C'mon. You can help pack up my office while I do the computer stuff."
