No More Running
Joey wasn't sure what had just happened. One moment, he was kicking Bigmouth's face in, the next minute, the whole world started shaking, and people were screaming. Buildings fell over and then he was ducking behind a car, trying to keep from getting splattered by falling debris. When the shaking stopped, Joey managed to push himself out of mass of debris and garbage, and stood up to look for his teammates.

Fargo, Georgia was a land of chaos.

The few buildings that hadn't fallen over were still crumbling, and there were people lying on the ground before him. Others civilians walked about, clutching at extremities (some missing) or trying to stop the blood flow of other people's wounds. Joey could feel something warm and wet on the side of his own face, but he tried not to think about that. If he did, it would only slow him down.

"Wild Child! Shatter! Ice Princess! Ruby! Kitten! Someone say somethin'!" Joey called out, hoping that this mission hadn't succeeded at what Krakoa had narrowly failed at.

"YOU DID THIS! YOU MUTANT FREAKS BLEW UP OUR TOWN!" a woman screams, pointing at Joey.

"You gotta be kiddin' me..." he says, calling a flame to his hand.

He did not need this right now.

	Rose looked between Joey and Tina and whoever this other guy was. Her fists clenched, ready to spring her claws. She was no mind reader, but her senses made her pretty good at reading others. She reached out and pushed Joey's arm down. "Hld ut..." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Rose would certainly recognize Cassidy's scent from Sinister's base, if she were of a mind to think of such things. Meanwhile, Cassidy was trying to keep an eye on the newcomers, in the direction the gun was pointed, while listening to Tina. "You heard Joey? Where?" Cassidy asks. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Joey lowers his arm at Rose's direction, but this kid is pissing him off. But when he hears Cassidy say his name, he blinks. "Hey, I'm Joey! Is that Tina? Look, man, if that's our friend, you need to let us help her. Lower the gun and back off, man. We just want to take our friend home." he says. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	They absolutely had to get Tina out of here. Rose knew the signs here. "Gttuh gt hr atta hr," she muttered. She was still healing, it was pretty much a visible process. Clear patches were even starting to appear on her face. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Yeah, that's Joey. Look, relax and help me move the beam. Then we're gonna get Tina out from under there.

Rose, keep a look out and make sure none of the locals decide we look like good people to shoot, or attack with pitchforks and torches, please?" Joey asks.

He then realizes he probably should have said anything about torches, or fire, considering recent events. He'd just not saying anything further about them.

	Tina stopped responding. She was breathing--it was labored enough that one could hear it--but no longer speaking. Her eyes were closed, though she kept fighting them awake. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Rose nodded in response to Joey's directions, not particularly concerned about the torches comment. She'd been set on fire before and probably would be again. Her nostrils flared, trying to take in everything she could. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I can help with that," Anastasia said, walking over to the group. It taken her awhile to find them, but she made her way over to them, still in ruby mode. "Heavy lifting isn't much of a problem for me in this form, though I can't do it on my own." She took a position next to Joey. "But I can still help."

She wasn't going to let her sister die on her. Granted, she hadn't known her for that long, but she was still her sister. She hadn't had siblings before and she wasn't about to lose one now.

	Joey smiled when he saw Anastasia. "Anastasia! You're okay. Good. We've got to get Tina out of there. I hope you're up on your first aid." he says. He look at Cassidy. "Kid, get in position and get ready." Joey says, hunkering down near one end of the beam. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Cassidy keeps his eyes on Tina, trying not to think about how he's currently outnumbered three-to-one. If they wanted to hurt him for what happened to Tina, he wasn't sure he could stop him unless he blew up again. He really didn't want to do that again. He takes Joey's direction and doesn't speak unless directly spoken to. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Rose--not that she'd ever say so aloud--was extremely happy to see that Annie was still among the living. She might not have actually been related to her, but Annie was like a sister to her, and certainly closer than their own universe's versions of Nate and Rachel (the older one from the future) had been.

She could feel her tongue starting to grow back in her mouth. Maybe she'd actually be able to talk soon. Damn, but her hair growing back itched.

Between the three of them, the group manages to lift the beam off of Tina and remove the piece of rebar. Cassidy keeps pressure on the wound as Joey and Ana go to get the Blackbird. There's a first aid kit on the plane; while it won't help with this, it will at least aid them in stabilizing her until she's home.

Cassidy looks at Joey, Rose and Ana, unsure of what comes next.

"So...what happens now?" he asks.

	"We get her and the rest of the team home," Rose said. She frowned. Dang kid had gotten her set on fire, injured Tina, Joey, and who knows who else. 	Uh oh. Burned Girl looked pissed and now that she could talk, Cassidy is pretty certain she's not happy with him. Did she get burned because of him? And where would they take him to? Rose fought to control her anger, feeling the red creeping in around the edges of her vision. She stabbed a finger in his direction. "You just leveled most of a city," she reminded him. "Right now, we're your best option."

Blegh. Newly grown tongue felt wrong in her mouth. But she also, mad as she was, understood the fear of being caged and poked and prodded.

"No cages. I promise."

"Look, kid, Rose is right. Tina dies if we don't leave now. You can take your chances with people who want you dead like the Terminator wanted Sarah Connor...or you can come with us and live.

And get some help." Joey says.

"Either way, I'm takin' my friends and gettin' the hell out of here. Are you in or out?" Joey asks. He doesn't have time to play around; nor does Tina.

"M-my name is Cassidy." the young man says quietly, immediately looking away from the sharpness of their voices. George and the others used to talk to him like that before the hitting started.

He doesn't want to get hit again.

"Okay...I'll go. I don't want Tina to die." Cassidy says.

He will follow the others back to the Blackbird, not wanting to look back at what's left of Fargo.
