Whhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyy????
Wade sits watching the noon-time news in horror. There is nothing he could do, nothing he could say that would change the display on the television. The last time something this terrible had happened, it had been over a year ago and he wasn't been anywhere near a news reel at the time. It had been a shock to find out about that time when he was freed from his shipping container.. but this is so much worse.

By the time Kelly or her lovely girlfriend can find him, he is a weeping soggy mess with his face pressed to the bottom of his bowling ball. In fact, he is so upset that he can't even speak at first, and instead sits there making big, hiccups as he tries to catch his breath.

Rue McClanahan, the actress who played Blanche on the Golden Girls, has died this day.

Kelly wanders in solemnly, hands full of bags of food.
"Hey dad, I heard the news. I brought you two of everything from the Taco stand down the street, and I'm headed for Hollywood tomorrow to steal two invitations to the funeral."

"She.. she was so YOUNG!" cries Wade to Kelly, before he throws himself dramatically to the back of the bowling ball and sloshes around. "She was my itty bitty poopsie woopsie Blanche and now the world will NEVER BE THE SAME!" he wailed, before dissolving into more tears.

Kelly nods with a sigh. "Not everyone gets to live for multiple centuries, dad. But you'll always have the full DVD set to remember her by. If it'd help, I could rig it up to get the episodes on reels, and we could violently hijack a movie theatre and watch them on the big screen?" she offers helpfully.

"Ok, you can watch them on the big screen, while my girl and I go make out while watching Kick-Ass again, anyway."

"I dunno if I'd be up for that Kelly-pants." he replies honestly. "I mean.. I'm such a wreck. I bet my mascara is running." Still, her offer seems to be getting him to sniffle less, and he takes a big shuddering breath before he says "Maybe we can just find a theater that has a DVD projector and we could just use that. Reels are a big pain in the ass, and huge heavy things y'know? No reason to go to that trouble on my account."

Melissa walks in with her books and her bag, still pissed off about the other night, but she notices the somber vibe in the room the moment she comes in.

"Okay, who died?" she asks.

"Blanche from the Golden Girls, aka Rue McLanahan. You know, one of the bunch of actresses who keeps dad occupied while we have noisy sex?" Discretion? What's that?

"We were thinking of a good way to memorialize her. Maybe finding a theatre with a DVD projector so he can watch the series and we can go find an action flick or something on the big screen."

Upon Kelly's announcement of Rue's death, Wade falls into tears all over again, sobbing on the bottom of his bowling ball. He's obviously quite a mess.

Melissa pats the bowling ball gently. "Well, there's an old dollar theater on 44th that we might be able to hijack. They do old movies all the time, but there are lots of Golden Girls fans.

Maybe we can get them to help us out." she says.

"And if asking nicely doesn't work, we can just hold them up at gunpoint." Melissa shrugs, as if there aren't any other options in between.

Kelly nods. "Holding up a movie theatre is the least I can do for my daddy. I'll get the DVDs and some light armament."
