Days later, and Angelo was still skittish. Research on schools, daily assignments, volunteer work, and neighborhood patrolling had been able to keep him busy until he found a spot in Andrew's schedule that he could reasonably impose upon. The trick had been finding one where he wouldn't have to go through Gio first, besides not taking Andrew away from all of his very important work. The boy had been a bundle of nerves ever since... the unthinkable* had happened.

He ran a hand through his hair and did his best to collect his thoughts, which seemed to keep running out of his head like water from a sieve. "Nella vita, chi non risica... non rosica," he told himself sternly, before knocking on Andrew's door.

No one had ever made an appointment with her. When Angelo had asked if she could meet him downstairs in the garden at 3, of course she'd agreed...though she didn't know why he couldn't just walk up to her and ask her instead of *calling* her . She hadn't seen him since Halloween...she had to assume he was avoiding her, that she'd crossed some major line and he was finally going to tell her that waht she'd done was inappropriate...and he had the right...but hell, it wasn't like she was a trogladite.

 

She headed down to the garden at 5 to 3, to wait.

It had been an interesting Halloween and subsequent trip to Germany. She and Jimmy had been almost inseparable for the trip. Germany had been fun and productive. The BMW test had gone extremely well and the contract was being drawn up. Jimmy and she had then driven cars around Nurburgring at ridiculously high speeds. Her car had performed very well and she had sent the collected data to Tesla Motor corp. They would be interested in seeing how one of their cars performed with the zero point energy tech installed. With any luck there would be more contacts coming soon.

The business part of the trip had been straight forward and easy. It was the personal part that had her confused. She had a lot of fun with Jimmy and he had been just what she needed after the run-in with Temujin, but what was going on, or wasn't, between them is what had her off balance a bit. Was there something there or was it just her imagination running away with her?

They had known each other all their lives. The only person she had known longer than Jimmy was Toni. Stark and Rhodes had a long history, but so did Stark and Rogers. Anya had known James for her whole life, but know she was seeing him in a whole new light. It was something she was unfamiliar with.

The first and last time she had taken an interest in someone it had turned out very badly and the bastard was still causing her problems. She hadn't been interested in anyone since then despite what the tabloids said. If she was seen talking to a member of the opposite sex, sometimes the same sex, there were rumors in the tabloids the next day. It was never ending.

Anya need to talk things through with someone and there was only one person on the planet she would talk to. She arrived in New York and headed right to the Avengers Mansion. She climbed the stairs and stopped at a certain room. She knocked on the door.
