Baby Steps Towards Making Things Better
He could do this. She was his friend. She'd been his friend for a very long time. There was no reason they couldn't continue to be friends, despite... being dumped breaking up.

He knocked at her door. It wasn't as if he had far to go. She was right next door after all.

"I know, and I assure you I'm not about to start grovelling for you to take me back, but I wanted to make sure I apologized plainly. You deserve that." He nods his head to the left as they head for the indoor course he'd selected.

"I'm having therapy with Doctor Samson again. I've... reached a point recently where I believe I'm becoming a threat to those around me, if not just my relationships with them."

She nodded slightly. "Your behavior has become increasingly erratic of late... culminating with your attacks upon your extradimensional brother. I have been worried about you."

"You're not alone in that." He sighs, replying flatly.

"Andrea... I still care about you a great deal, romantically as well as platonically. I'm going to do my best to treat you the way you deserve to as one of my closest friends. I can't make the feelings I have for you go away, but I'm going to do my best not to let them interfere with that part at least."

"My own feelings for you are, as of yet, quite unresolved," Andrea admitted.

"But you are and shall always be, my friend," she added. "Regardless of what else happens, I have no wish to lose that relationship."

He manages a smile. "Nor do I, Andrea. Nor do I."

He nods his head downwards at their destination, fighting off the urge to ask her not to give up on the idea of 'them'. He's got more sense than that, even now.

"So.. has your game stayed as strong since we were at Disney, or do I need to allot you a handicap?" He smirks.

Andrea followed after in descent.

"My skills remain as sharp as ever," she told him as she put her feet upon the ground. She bobbed for a second before she canceled the anti-gravity field she had been using for propulsion.

"Though if you prefer, I can always turn off my calculator."
