Catching up
Set after Mother's Day and before X-Men in Spaaaaaaaace!

A busy life wasn't a good enough excuse to get out of regular visits with Mom. Missing the monthly family dinner would require a note from St. Peter, and even that was dicey. It was true that life was busy and most days he had to scramble to fit it all in. Sometimes he had to play hooky from it.

He appeared at the Stark condo mid-morning with a box of fresh pastries to see Mom and check her progress. If she looked like she was overdoing it, he would threaten to move in that night.

	"Why not? He's the responsible one." Throwing his father to the teenage wolves would hardly phase the man but the kids might think twice about acting up too much. Wasn't he living proof of Dad's skill at reining in a herd of teens? "That would be great. I'll even let you pick all the movies. Anything special you want for dinner?" 	He did as instructed, coming back to sit down next to her with the black satin finished box. There was no logo to give him a clue and with Mom it could be anything. He really did have everything he could want, but somehow Mom managed to find off the wall things that suited. Anya had inherited the gift giving trait. He removed the lid and peered inside.
