Lunchtime
Melinda remains distant from her classmates, for the most part. Truth be told, she doesn't really feel like she deserves to be here with them. She knows rationally it's nonsense to feel that way, but she can't help it.

So it is that, once again, at lunchtime, she sits outside, away from the others, watching the fountain while she eats her sandwich.

	Jake, lunch balanced carefully in one hand while he juggles something into his backpack with the other, wanders outside in a bit of a good mood. He seems to be intent to eat outside today. 	Jake sits down carefully and offers a smile that shows off his fangs, tail curling around his waist as he does. "Yes, it's a very nice day," he says. 	She regards him a moment, internally struggling between guilt from realizing some of her friends might have teased him just last year, and with the realization of just how wrong that would have been.
