The Mists of Avalon
Quinn stepped out of the portal and looked around. Avalon was almost a reflection of England on Earth, but there were still many differences. The inhabitants were much different and the cities were gone. Quinn looked at his fellow...teammates or just companions? He didn't know and at this point he didn't care much.

"Stay close. I'm going to teleport us to a spot just outside of Morgan's castle. Once we get there, expect resistance." He wasn't quite sure if Morgan was responsible for destroying Braddock Manor, but his gut told him it was her. He had sensed the residue from a portal to Avalon and this Morgan could have as much animosity toward Captain Britain as the Morgan he knew. A part of him wondered if it was the same Morgan and if this was the same Otherworld.

"By Danu," Morgan cries out in anger. She knows all too well what is going to happen. Now if only she can come up with a good plan.

The bands were going around her hands binding them in place. She was not going to let herself be trapped so easily. "Be swift of feet and light of heart. Let these bindings come apart!"

This was Dmitri's chance. He gets up and forms two throwing knives of iron, which he sends at Morgan's legs.

While Morgan was distracted trying to banish the bands, Quinn cast another spell.

"Vaapors of Valtorr --
swirl 'round thy brow!
May the Moon's Mists of Morpheus
envelop thee now!"

With any luck Morgan would be knocked out.

She gives a screech as her legs are sliced into. The bindings are no longer on her hands and she falls painfully to her knees.

She holds on tight to keep from falling to the ground as she slips into unconsciousness for a moment. Quinn should hurry.

"Is this battle now decided, Quinn?" Dmitri knew very little of Morgan.

"Hardly, mate. She's not done yet," Quinn said as he started to float down to where Morgan lay.

Morgan stirs rolling onto her back. Her legs hurt and her head feels like it is weighed down with lead but her eyes still flicker open quickly.

"Let the winds slice into like the ice from the north. Let the ground take them and shake them from the sky," Morgan utters as sharpened icicles begin to cut through the air attacking Quinn as the ground starts to try sucking Dimitri into it as if it is trying to eat him.

Thankfully Dmitri was very tall. Unfortunately, his body seemed to react more strongly to the effects of magic than others. He was caught off guard at first, but he starts molding daggers and throwing them at Morgan. No vital points- Dmitri isn't a killer. But he's nervous about the ground trying to consume him.

Quinn threw up a quick shield which caught most, not all of the ice shards. One struck him in the thigh and he felt the pain and the cold at the same time.

Quinn unleashed a blast of mystical energies at Morgan. "Hand him over!" he yelled.

"I do not have him! Truthfully," she shouts as she dodges and rolls away from the attacks ending up on her knees.

She draws up as much power as she can and gets ready to defend herself once more. "If I did have him.... Do you not think I would be smug and pleased with myself? Well?"

She is neither.

Quinn hated to admit it, but she did have a point. Blast it! "Dammit!" He really wanted to hurt someone right now. He didn't know this Brian, but there was still a sense of family there. Quinn had been familiar enough with multiple dimensions existing and multiple copies of people. "The portal led here and it had your handiwork all over it."

It seemed that the battle was at a cease-fire. "I am still sinking," Dmitri commented.

She waves her hand and instead of Dimitri sinking there is a three foot deep trench dug around him.

"It was not me. While I am curious as to who would make a portal that would lead you and your merry little band here, I am innocent of your claims against my person," Morgan says coolly while slowly rising to her feet.

"I would be willing to point you in the right direction, if I knew where it lay."

"I believe you," Quinn said reluctantly. "I don't know who is behind it. There was an attack and Braddock Manor was destroyed. Brian is missing. I was following the magical signatures and it led me here. To you."

"Hm. An obvious choice. I hold no love for Brian Braddock," she says simply. She looks out across the fight and shakes her head.

Then she calls off the battle. She turns and watches Quinn for a moment.

"Perhaps I can send you the right way. I do not care to have you here for long."

"Now, luv, how can you say that? You don't even know me or what I can do." He gave her a smile and a wink. The fighting was over and it was a misunderstanding. He could be friends.

"We'll go back to Earth and start on that end again. We are sorry for the misunderstanding, Morgan."
