Keep Your Friends Close
She was still nursing the broken arm, but her injuries were mostly stabilized. In light of all she had gone through with her family right now, she needed to get out. A standard scrying spell determined the location of the friend she had in mind. After letting Kristoff know she would be leaving the building, and her general destination, she was off.

She arrived at the front gates of the Defenders' headquarters, asking for Asleif over the intercom.

"Oh you can do far more than just that. I was referring to how frequently that particular transformation crops up in folklore. You'd almost think it was a beginner's level spell."

She coughs into her hand. "Asleif actually apprenticed under my birth mother for a time. Her spells tend to be a bit more... well, I suppose underhanded might say it best. She had a very respectable repertoire of more traditionally offensive spells as well."

	Dawn nodded. "I've figured out a few things. I can zap stuff, get a shield going for a couple, but I'm a long way from anything impressive." And flying. She could kinda do that. But she tended to crash into things. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Vincent does her absolute best not to preen at being called an 'expert'. She succeeds, for the most part, but does seem to be sitting up a bit straighter.

"As I said, I believe I can teach you most of the basics. Finding your own style will have to evolve from there."

The first round of sushi arrives, and, after some fumbling to break and pick them up one-handed, manages her chopsticks with relative ease.

	"Well, I appreciate it," Dawn told her. Even with somewhat unfamiliar hands, she's quite the expert at handling chopsticks, so that's not a problem. "As of the past several months... not as glamorous as you might think. I was quite the 'party boy' for a while though. It certainly had it's perks, never waiting in line and such. As for being part of the Fantastic Four in particular, we got to see places most people can't even imagine. The Microverse, Sub-terranea, the Negative Zone... Doctor Richards left us quite a legacy."

She sets in on some of the ootoro, savoring it.
