If Vincent was frail, the wife of the Prince of the Wolves was decidedly moreso, when in her strictly human form.

In addition to their fatalities, the wolves had incurred a few too many serious injuries for the pack to return to the forest immediately. So they waited in and around the city rather than leave anyone behind.
