Escape
Anger seethed under the calm surface of the redhead sitting in a holding cell at Xavier’s Institute, but she didn’t focus on it. There would be time to act upon it later. There would be time for vengeance after she got out of here.

Lady Mandarin looked calm and serene as she sat in a lotus position with her eyes close in the middle of the cell. Her mind was focusing on the nanites going through the computer systems that controlled the door and locks to the cell and the other systems in the building.

She would get out of here and free her lord from his prison. Then they would deliver vengeance upon those responsible for her lord’s capture and rebuild his empire.

She opened her eyes. It was time. The work done on the systems was complete. She was not going to sit in this cell a moment longer. She unfolded her legs and stood up. A deep breath and a simple command. The locks disengaged and she walked out of the cell toward freedom.

	She doesn't kiss her back, but she comes so close. She wants to. All the pain could end, no more weight of an entire universe, even for a little while. And... and its Anya. Her hands shake. She almost reaches a couple times. Once, almost looking like she's going to try and embrace Anya. Once like she's reaching for the hammer, as if trying to get its reassurance that she has the will to do this, to do anything. Both times, she falls short. She can't let this happen... she wants this so much. More than anything? More than her universe? But she's so tired... fighting for her universe, when she doesn't even know if the Timebroker is telling the truth? He could be lying... and its Anya... no it isn't. Not really... but she can smell her, feel her, taste her. Oh gods no.

"Please... no... don't do this... Anya... please."

	"Sarah?!" Molly rushed into the lobby, having heard a disturbance. She narrowed her glowing eyes at Lady Mandarin. "Let. Her. Go!" She charged at her, to send the other girl into a wall. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Anya..." Sarah's first response is a trained one. She drops to check Anya's pulse, make sure she'll be ok. As soon as she's sure, she pauses there, staring down at the unconscious figure, hands still shaking. "Oh...gods..." what did she almost do? (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Sarah turns to Molly. She tries to say something. No words come out. She tries again, its a little bit of a squeak. There's absolutely nothing of the self-assured, confident girl Molly met before. After a third failure to speak, she just collapses, head against Molly's shoulder, putting her arms around her, crying hard. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Molly didn't know what to say. She just wrapped her arms around Sarah, holding her close to her. She wanted to say something comforting, but words couldn't come to mind, as she just rubbed Sarah's back. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She hugs her tighter briefly. "Thank you." she manages, muffled by Molly's shoulder. She was sure it would be ok, when Anya was all better. But right now, it doesn't feel like things will be alright again any time soon. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"We... we should put her back in her cell. She can control machines with her nanites, so you'll want either some kind of EMP, or physical restraints that don't rely on electronics." She's had a little time to process things. She's having a rough time with it, but best that not happen again - and someone who isn't her deal with it. Anya will be back soon, she's sure of it. The real Anya.

	Sarah steps back, trying to compose herself. She's not sure she's ready to help with something like this. She doesn't know the Professor is currently in a coma, and thus the resources to deal with Anya are in short supply, but even mention of his name is some comfort that they have the means here somewhere. 	Molly remained standing in between Sarah and Lady Mandarin, an arm in front of Sarah's chest. "Go back to your cell," she said, her tone not wavering, "Or I will take you there myself."
