It came from somewhere wet
Vincent smiled as he stretched out in the chair adjacent to Andrea's. The idea for a getaway had been perfect.  Least of all for the reason that ever since he no longer had his divinity, New York had been absolutely frigid. He didn't know how humans just dealt with it.

Here though, on some insignificant but just barely developed tropical island, he and his girlfriend were quite happily isolated from any annoying aspects of real life that might drive home reminders of his condition. He'd had to worry about sunscreen as well for the first time in his life, but that was a small price to pay. Particularly since Andrea had been willing to help with the application.

A pair of cocktails and lounge chairs on a nearly deserted beach at sunset was rounding out the day nicely. He smiled as he looked over at Andrea. "Thank you for agreeing to my idea. I needed this. More than I realized initially."

Andrea returned his grin warmly. "You are most welcome," she told him. "There has been far too much going on of late. We both needed this break."

He finishes his rum and coke and then sits up, tugging at her. "Come on... let's see if the latest round of updates has you finally able to float."

Vincent chuckles as he gazes at her appreciatively, pulling her towards the water line.

Andrea let herself be pulled along, smiling.

"I calculate a 95.765% chance of success in this endeavor," she told him.

"A far cry from that cruise we all went on back before your synth-flesh was installed." Vincent chuckles teasingly.

"How did you enjoy that walk back to shore along the bottom after you dove in? Your father was quite the sight to see, urging the ship's captain to head to the intercept course."

He rushes headlong into the water, tugging her along, stopping once he's up to his chest.

Andrea carefully processed her options, then decided that the proper course of action was to stick her tongue out at Vincent.

She followed him out into the water a little cautiously, and bobbed just a little, but kicked and managed to keep her head above water.

"It would appear the upgrades were successful."

Vincent smiles and wades out further to meet her, floating on his back and taking her hand. There was no surf to speak of at the moment, so the two could relax quite comfortably. The buzz from the drinks they'd been enjoying didn't hurt either.

"Miss Denker, have I made you aware recently that you are wonderful?"

"You last did two days, seven hours, thirty-seven minutes, and sixteen seconds ago," Andrea informed him.

She leaned in close and kissed him. "I would say it was a highly overdue reminder."

Vincent was letting himself be quite happily occupied with returning that kiss when he felt a tug on his leg.

Andrea had left her sensors in passive mode, since she did not believe they were in any kind of danger, and thus did not detect the presence grabbing at Vincent until he started to slip away.

"What...?"
