Let's Get Together
He didn't like what had happened to the school. He had decided to go through with the outing anyways. This would be to help the students out. He had two vans ready to go with a third one if they had anyone else show up who wanted to get out. He has a clip board in one hand and a pen in the other.

Some people might notice that his shoes aren't normal sneakers. He had been wearing the ones that had a leg brace build in for one of his legs. Sometimes when he was more stressed out Ezekiel found it more difficult to use one leg so he had a brace for times like that. He didn't need a cane or anything, so long as he had a brace he would be fine.

He glances at his watch and leans against one of the vans. He would check off names and add any more to his lists. He had a feeling that there would be more people coming and he was prepared just in case. Good thing he had plenty of older students coming too.

"You know, I'm still trying to figure that one out. By pretty much any standards, I got lucky being out off the path, though I wish I could have done more. I'm just kind of... learning to deal I guess... I haven't had a nightmare since I was nine. So I'm still trying to figure how much of that was me, normally subdued by my powers, and how much was the three telepaths' projecting at me. You?"

Cait nodded. "I can understand that," she said. "I'm...adjusting and worried about Rufus. That...woman...did a lot of damage to him in such a short time." Cait instinctively hid her bad hand behind her. It was more a reflex action than anything.

He sighs. "I can understand that. Your little brother has a strong mind. I haven't been able to bring him out of it, but everything seems to be working alright. Given time, I think he'll recover. Speaking of which... it'd take a while, but when Spring hits and some of the new shoots start coming up and their spirits are more active, I might be able to do something about your hand, if you want? I can't make any guarantees, its a difficult ritual, and one I could only do during a time like new spring, but I'm willing to try."

"Mom always says he's stubborn," she said with a small sad smile. Cait blinked and then threw her arms around him in a hug. "Thank you. I'd like that."

He returns the hug. "He is, and his mind is sound. I've checked on him and Viki now and then. And no problem... its what I do. I just wish I could do more. I'm still learning."

"You already do so much for everyone," she said as she released him. "Some of us wouldn't be here it it weren't for you."

He gives her shoulder another squeeze with one hand. "I try, and I appreciate it. Just try and take care of yourself some too. Your brother is going to be ok."

"I will." She looked down at their teammates. "Want to make a bet on who wins? Loser bakes the winner something."

He smiles and shakes his head. "I'll bake you something, you can bake me something, and we'll trade. I don't gamble." Much as its helping some of his people, in other areas, gambling has destroyed a lot of lives on the reservations too.
