Settling in?
They'd started moving into the renovated abandoned restaurant/nightclub covered scrap metal. Corey'd even arranged a recycling dumpster next to the regular one. Once the kitchen was finally covered in his explanatory signs -- one explanation of food storage and recycling having the very direct heading 'You Will Not Waste' -- he took an awful lot of sorted bags of packaging out to said recycling dumpster.

"I smell something good," Irina said as she walked into the kitchen. "Please tell me there's some left."

She stopped when she saw that they had company. "We have company for dinner." She smiled. "I am Irina Krylova."

Enteinne, who was never one to look a gift horse in the mouth unless said gift horse was wearing a ribbon someplace mighty uncomfortable, was both happy for his sister and feeling very untrusting of their hosts. A job was a wonderful thing and Alisa had hardly any feelings of nervousness coming off her as she walked in with Nick. Heck, if he hadn't any contact with her emotions, he might have even said she was feeling a little sweet on the man. But a an offer to stay someplace with people they'd only for all of what? forty-five minutes? an hour? and they hadn't even met everyone that lived in the shared rental space? That sent a red flag right through him. Plenty of well meaning folk had made that same kind of offer to him over the years. But even the most well meaning had some sort of expectations. He'd have to talk with Alisa about it later. In private. Back home.

So Enteinne let the comment slide past him for the immediate, no need to get into that kind of talk in front of folks they don't know from Adam, "Dat's a good job. Extra pay be nice ta have, oui?"

As Irina walked in, Enteinne pulled his feet in so he wasn't taking up so much space in the kitchen. There was plenty of room for people to go around if they wanted, but habits were habits.

He nodded at her and smiled, licking his lips and tilting his head to the side, slipping into a flirt like a model changes clothes: easily and with great frequency, "Bonjour mam'selle. J'mapelle Enteinne et ma seour, Alisa. My name's Enteinne, my sister is Alisa. An it be lunch we bein' served. Dinner not til after six."

Not being very well educated, he had no idea that some countries, 'lunch' was referred to as 'dinner' and what he equated with 'dinner' was known as 'supper'. Or that many people used them interhangably. He thought he was displaying a right sense of intelligence in explaining that lunch was being served to the woman with an accent that clearly marked her as a foreigner.

He eyes Enteinne. He's cautious- more so than his sister. Good. That's definitely a good sign for both of them. But he also has to explain this to his teammates.

"Tink is one of the best mechanics I've ever seen. She could make a real good living as a Harley mechanic, but she doesn't have the people skills or speak the language of bikes. I've offered her a decent starting wage, and, if its ok with the rest of you, the chance to rent a couple of our spare rooms, since it'd be right above work. Give her brother the other room, so he can keep an eye on her. If she's half as skilled as she tested being, she can afford a fair rent."

This statement forced Enteinne to speak on the matter. The smile slipped a little, becoming tighter and a little less friendly. He decided to attempt being polite about it and make it less an issue of trust and more an issue of money, "We have a house. Paid in full an' clear. Not so bad a ride from here an' I can get ma Belle ta work on time no problem. Thank ya for de offer in all, very gen-or-us but no point in rentin' when we already got a place we don't owe no money on, oui? Oui."

And in Enteinne's mind, that ended it. Surely everyone could understand issues of wasting money.

Bonjour Enteinne. It is a pleasure to meet and your sister. Irina replied in French.

Irina could feel the tension between Nicholas and the newcomer. "Think about the offer, that is all we ask. We don't expect you to take us up on it right away. The offer will stand open."

Nicholas nods. So far, he's pretty sure its not Enteinne that hurt her, though the constant presence and even still sleeping with her own related security blanket isn't healthy.

But then he's not her shrink either, or out to save the world or every poor waif who needed it. Really, he assures himself, he isn't. She's just an employee.

"Suit yourselves. The rooms and three squares a day are available if you want them, but if the house is paid free and clear, and she has a ride to work on time, its no skin off my back where you live."

He nodded, full smile returning as he felt like he had won something, "Jus' make sure I got de sked-u-al and she be here on time."

Then his attention dropped from Nick and returned to Irina. Back to that mischievious smirk and body wiggling like a puppy wanting to play, his tongue ran over his teeth before replying in full French, [You speak quite well. It isn't often folks from outside the area can talk that clearly. What do you do around this place? Already met the mechanic and the cook.]

"She makes her own schedule at the start of the week. She wants to work twenty hours, she works twenty hours. She wants to work forty, she works forty. She gets paid for whatever hours she works, seventeen bucks an hour - docked fifteen percent to pay for her tools and parts for your bike til she's paid up. If the two of you decide she's up for two years of school, she could get certified and make double that, easy."

"Not much," Irina admitted. "I have other skills and abilities that are useful to the team and aren't really practical for domestic stuff."

One good thing about having the two kids around was that she now had a chance to practice her French.

Irina grabbed a plate and then grabbed a chair at the table. "One of these days I will have to make borscht for everyone. Maybe one day for breakfast I will make blini."

"B-but... Ennie..." She bit her tongue. If he did not wnat to stay with these people yet... then it was a battle she could not win. But she wanted to stay here. He would not have to drive her everyday if they lived here... or worry about picking her up. She also had no "sweet on" feelings for Nick. Alisa was just thrilled that someone other than Ennie thought her abilities and talents were worth so much. That there was faith in her.

Feeling a bit defeated, she took her seat at the table, resting her hands in her lap and looking down at her plate.

Enteinne moved around the table and sat in one of the seats next to Alisa. He smiled, completely misunderstanding her minor protest, "'sokay ma Belle. Drivin' ya down here be no skin off my back, non? Maybe we even work on gettin' ya a license so ya drive ya-self. Be another first for de family!"

Hands tucking into his lap and legs kicking under the table, he went back to speaking with Irina while he waited for the food to be served. They were guests, guests didn't serve themselves, right? Maybe they did. Irina had already grabbed a plate, but Alisa hadn't... He'd follow Alisa's example on this one.

"[Team? What kind of team? Swimming? Football? Soccer? Dance? You in school still or something... Look a bit old for school... less you're in one of those higher schooling places. University, they called.]"

Nicholas serves himself a generous helping of whatever's made. Food is food. He eats standing up though, leaning against a counter - habit from childhood. It was always easier that way to quickly dismiss himself or take off if things got unpleasant when foster families or 'kids' homes' got together. Only time he sat down to eat was when he was in minimal company that he felt comfortable with - so far, that's Irina - or in front of the TV.

"That's not a bad idea, Tink. If you are eventually going to learn enough to get certified, which would make you a ton more money, you ought to learn to ride a bike. It'd be on your own time, but if you'll put the time in voluntarily, and work on getting your license, we can get you parts and a frame and build you your own bike, custom."

Corey will quite cheerfully hand first Alisa, then her brother each a plate laden with chicken and sweet potatoes, his expression generally 'eat eat eat!'

Alisa looked down at the plate Corey gave her and began to eat some of the potatoes at first. She was not a fan of sweet potatoes, but they were healthy for her. Her fork then grazed over the chicken, taking a piece of it and placing it in her mouth. After chewing and swallowing her food, she responded to Nick.

"Ah... ah would like ta stay here, for now... since... since ah would be on site... for emergency repairs an' such... as for... for learnin' ta ride... ah... ah guess ah can do dat on... on mah free time..."

Enteinne pushed the food around his plate, going for the sweet potatoes first and eating about half of it before he set his fork down. When Alisa spoke, his expression hardened and he replied, "We talk later, peanut, once we home, oui?"

Then he lifted his fork again and pushed the chicken around a bit before taking a small bite. His stomach was still rumbling so he took another before setting the fork down again and tucking his hands into his lap. About 3/4 of the food remained as he smiled at Corey, "Very tasty. Thank you."

"The Champions," Irina answered in English. "We're setting up our headquarters here. Hopefully be able to do some good in the city."

Irina grabbed some sweet potatoes and chicken for herself when the dishes came her way. She put some of each on her plate and then passed the dishes on.

Argo, unlike the others, had as of yet very little to do to occupy his days. His nights on the other hand, were a different story. Nevertheless, it meant that he usually ended up sleeping away the better portion of a morning until around lunch time.

Shirtless, his hair still disheveled from sleep, he entered the kitchen where the others were. "Oh!" he said. "I didst not know we had company."

"Oh, hey Argo. Yeah, this is Enteinne LeBeau and his sister, Alisa." he made the latter introduction with a subtle 'lay off' gesture, trying very hard to make sure Argo was the only one who saw it. Not that he's overly worried about the Olympian causing her too much trouble, but he wants to avert any issues, and figures among the half-blood's bar hopping, he can figure out 'wingman' code. Alisa is damaged goods, she doesn't need too much trouble just yet.

"Alisa is going to be helping me in the shop."

Alisa's eyes were as wide as saucers as she looked up at Argo. She literally dropped her fork and just stared at the Olympian. Her heart just seemed to stop in her chest for a moment. He did not look real... like something out of the few books she managed to scavage through in a Library's book bin on free book day. She continued to seem motionless, just... staring.

Enteinne eyed Argo, less worried about the awe cascading off his sister as he was whatever reaction the large man might have toward his twin. He turned his eyes to Corey and offered a smile, "Thank ya again for de meal, mon ami. Could we wrap de rest up in foil, p'haps? Ma seour an I got some... uh.. chores ta do at home. We should get goin' an' not take up anymore o' your time."
