Attack on Xavier's
Penny stepped out of the cab and didn't look back to see if Winterkill and Breakneck were getting out. They would follow, of that she had no doubt. They had a mission to do. Penny smiled. They'd have fun doing it too.

Penny smiled more as she practically bounced up to the gate. Makeup covered the bruise she had because of that bastard breaking her nose. Anger bubbled up, but she pushed it back. She couldn't afford to let real emotions get the best of her. She had to play a part right now.

Smiling into the security camera, Penny pressed the buzzer.

	The woman hit her and Cait fell backward. The woman's hand touched her and Cait felt the numbing cold start to spread outward. Cait tried to counter it, but she was weakening too quickly from the biting cold. Darkness closed in. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Mikhaila first collects a DNA sample, stuffing it in her pocket. Then she tears Cait's top open enough to expose the skin over her heart.
The boss made her swear she wouldn't kill Drake, and preferred she be brought in.
"You're one lucky bitch. The boss wants you alive, for some reason." she says as she carefully brushes her fingertips over Cait's skin, feeling her heartbeat slowing as Mikhaila carefully moderates her powers to try and induce coldsleep instead of a lethal drain, healing herself bit by bit with the tapped body heat.

She was not expecting that. And fire - fire is definitely bad. Instincts kick in, and she dives away from the worst of it, but it definitely still hurts.

"Little brat." she snarls, lunging back at him. She's going to have to be quick - that hurt worse than she's letting on, and the effects of the battle with Cait are far from fully healed.

He's a pyrokinetic - that fact alone may save his life, at first anyway. He has even less training than Cait though, and a small body.

"You'll pay for that." she snarls, wrapping a hand to his throat, the flames snuffing out as she sucks the heat from them and any further attempts at raising a renewed assault, then begins to steal the heat from his body to empower her to finish Cait.

The heat brought Cait back to consciousness and she looked around. Rufus! The bitch had Rufus.

Cait pulled herself up to a sitting position and using the wall, she managed to get to her feet. She took a deep breath and pulled all the water in the area to her. Water rushed under the bathroom door and formed into a sphere.

Cait broke it out into semi-solid tentacles and lashed out at the woman.

One hit. Two. Three. Four. Five. Cait used every bit of strength to keep pressing the attack.

She reached out to the water in the woman's body and started making it colder. If this woman liked cold so much, Cait would give her a taste of her own medicine.

She wasn't expecting it, and as injured as she was, all her attention was on Rufus.
Bones snap under the tentacle assault. She's dashed against the wall like waves crashing on the rocks. Blood sprays across the wall, the floor, and Rufus' very cold, very still form.

Worse for Mikhaila, all the precious heat she'd drawn out flees under Cait's power.

It only takes seconds. With her vital essence drained, she falls to the floor, heart not beating, not breathing, in a pool of blood that glitters with ice crystals.

Anger boiled inside of Cait. She was mad about being attacked and madder about what the woman did to Rufus. With a yell she grabbed the water and wrapped a bubble around the woman. In seconds it turned to a block ice and encased the woman.

Cait staggered over to Rufus and then feel to her knees next to him. She placed her hands on his chest and slowly warmed the water inside of his body.

"Rufus," she said weakly. "C'mon Twerp. Wake up. Please."

	Cait picked her brother up and started carrying him toward the medlab. She moved slowly since she probably had frostbite on some toes and it made every step painful. Her chest hurt and she was missing fingers on one hand. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

With the fires set elsewhere, and water all over, the ice doesn't last long.

Shortly after Cait is out of sight, one of Winterkill's hands come free, falling against one of the walls.
A moment later it begins to crack as she sucks all the heat from it. Its not much at first, but her heart begins beating again. A few minutes later, her head coming free, she draws a deep, gasping breath.

Its not a fast process, she's in bad shape, but by the time anyone comes back through, she's gone.
