Mikhaila's father was all about teaching her how to handle keeping concentration while in pain, keep her mind active and alert, and it would take people by surprise. He was a brutal man, certainly - but it was only for her survival, and it had paid off more than once since.
She's clipped by the tentacle again. Were it not for her healing abilities to go with her vampirism she'd have been out three or four times over by now, but she's no more normal than Cait is.
She takes the hit, but it helps her get in close. She sweeps at Cait's feet, then dives - trying to get one of those terribly freezing hands against Cait's throat or eyes, even for a moment.
