Mikhaila dives after her, trying to grab at an ankle and twist. Though she prefers her powers, and certainly does her best to steal all the heat she can, she's also not at all bad in hand to hand, and happy to physically cripple an opponent and try to keep Cait from getting to more water while she can.
The ice shards force her to duck low, and still leave some gashes down her back, but as long as she can steal some of Cait's body heat, those will heal fast enough.
