Daredevil/Matt Murdock ([info]guardian_devil) wrote in [info]marvel_legends,
"I've been watching law and justice fail for years, Natasha. I've been working both sides of the system, trying to make sure that some kid never had to grow up without losing his father or mother or someone close to them.

That some guy doesn't watch the woman he loves get murdered by a psychopath. Or the /same/ psychopath repeatedly.

And every time I put one of these sons of bitches in jail, I watch people like Wilson Fisk work the same law I live to uphold to get them off with little more than a slap on the wrist. Then they get out and kill someone else and we do this same dance over and over again!" Matt yells.

"When does it stop, Tasha? How many more people have to die before we do something more than watch the legal system get worked?" Matt asks. Yes, he breaks the law as Daredevil, but he's doing it to make sure that people don't suffer the way he has. He uses the law to punish the guilty, only going after them when the law is circumvented.

It's not the same thing, in his mind.
