Pepper sat at her desk and looked over the schedule for the day. Or rather, Tony's schedule for the day.

Board meeting at two o'clock.

It was now one twenty-five. Time to tell the boss that it was time to start getting everything together.

Because there was a chance that Tony had probably forgot.

Pepper gathered her things and made her way to Tony's office.

And found that her ever-diligent boss was asleep at his desk.

Pepper knocked on the doorway. "Rise and shine, sleeping beauty," she said with a smirk.

	Tony comes awake bleary-eyed, looking around. "I'm not sleeping. Just going over the presentation in my mind." he says. "You look great, Pepper. I know I should tell you that more often, and I'm going to." he promises. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	"You were snoring, Tony," Pepper said with a smirk. "Were you resting your nasal passages too?" "Thanks boss," she said distractedly, looking down at her clipboard. 	That's what he'd forgotten he needed to do today! "Oh, yeah. I remembered the Board Meeting. Come on, Pepper! I'm not completely irresponsible." Tony says. Just mostly. 	An eyebrow went up. "Uh-huh." "Board Meeting, followed by checking on the new prototypes, followed by dinner with the mayor. Try not to hit on his fiance again. The premier party is tomorrow." No need to look at the clipboard. Pepper's got this memorized. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I wasn't hitting on her! We both have an interest in fast cars and all I did was talk. Why do I get the stern talking-to when women come on to me? It's like blaming the victim!" Tony protests.

"I want to get these prototypes for the farming units out by the end of this week, Pepper. I really want to get them to the places they're needed and work on the food shortage issue world-wide." Tony says.

He pauses for a long moment.

"Something's happened to Thor, Pepper. We got jumped the other day by some pretender after Sif showed up at the Mansion. Add to that that I saw Sersi the other night and she didn't even remember me and I've been running myself ragged lately.

Thanks for keeping my head above the water." he says.

"Because you flirted right back, and it really didn't look good on trying to improve relations with the mayor by hitting on his fiance."

Pepper nodded, "We can push the project along easily. They just need your stamp of approval before they can get final clearance," she said.

Pepper sat down in the seat across from Tony's desk.

"Did you figure out where the real Thor is? Is there anything I can do to help? Is there something up with Sersi too, you think?

Not a problem, boss." She smiled at him.

"Right now, we don't know where he is, but we're looking. I'm just worried about anyone that can take a god out of commission. I mean, I'm just a regular guy in a suit of armor, but people think I can't be hurt. I don't think they'd like the reality behind the metal." Tony says, giving a self-deprecating smile.

"Sersi thought I was crazy, Pepper. She wouldn't entertain anything I had to say, and I haven't told everyone else yet. I'd like to think that one mystery at a time is all we can handle, but Sersi's our friend, just like Thor. I'm worried about her." he says.

	"Damn. Please, if there's anything I can do to help, let me know." Pepper may not wear a suit of armor, but she could haul ass with the best of them, damnit. Tony had been thinking of that, and there was a nice, big list of people who can mess with the gods and live to tell the tale.

"We're looking at all possible avenues right now, but we don't have any solid leads yet." Tony says. "I'll keep you in the loop, though. Chances are I'll be jetting off to help get all this straightened out on a moment's notice, so you'll need to hold down the fort, as usual."
