The call comes in about 4:20 am EST.

A man in crimson armor climbs out of a harbor in Manhattan, barely able to stand. He collapses, water-logged and battered, upon the ground. He lit up American airspace alerts two or three miles out, but he moved too quickly for anyone to mount an adequate response.

Two hours later, Crimson Dynamo sits in an interrogation room on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, awaiting someone, anyone who will hear him out. It galls him to ask the Americans for help, but he has no choice.

He is betraying his country to save it from a monster.

"I left Russia only after I went to see President Karloff and found him speaking with a man called the Red Ghost. He is a known criminal in Russia. I want to believe President Karloff is being influenced or pressured, but I have to proof to go upon.

And he sent people to harry me across the ocean. I did not know where else to turn." he says, looking down.

Natasha had been in a relatively good mood until Fury called. He explained what was going on and Natasha didn't like it, but they did have to do something.

She made some few calls and told the team where they would be meeting. The Secret Avengers assembled in an old abandoned SHIELD bunker just outside the city limits. A SHIELD escort dropped off their special guest.

"Thank you all for coming," Natasha said as people took seats around a small conference table.

Rhodey was in full armor, ammo fully loaded.

It was a good thing his faceplate was down. He wouldn't have wanted to let his expression show right now. He respected 'tasha, and though they had not worked together much, he respected Carol and appreciated another Air Force person around. The other guy, he didn't recognize.

But the Red Hulk and Venom? What was Steve thinking?

His Gatling Gun snapped forward on its rails. "Both of you, knock it off."

Brock turns to look at Rhodey, then to Red Hulk, and back to Rhodey. The tendrils retract into his hand and he backs away.

"I promised I'd play ball." He didn't fear War Machine's ammo, Castle put a bullet through his head and he'd survived. But this wasn't about what he could or couldn't do, he'd said he'd do this. Eddie wanted to be someone who's word ment something. Though he does point a finger at War Machine. "However I do not answer to you. I will do my part." He takes a mkoment to address Widow. "Sorry." He returns to his space on the wall.

"Tell me more about this 'Red Ghost' character. I'm more than happy to go crack some skulls in Russia before they decide to go back to being hardline bastards again, but I'd bet Karloff's just trying to shore up his power of his own free will. Conditions over there are in the crapper. Ripe for that kinda exploitation."
