"No, he didn't...and to be honest, if he could have, I wouldn't have stopped, Tasha. Whoever hired him could have been targeting Milla for a million reasons that had nothing to do with her connection to me.
Maybe I'm being arrogant to assume that this was about me in any way at all." he says.
He grunts as she stitches up the wound and tries not to draw attention to her admittance of still loving him. He knows what it took for her to even feel comfortable enough to say that to him.
He does, however, gently touch her shoulder as she works, a silent gesture of appreciation.
"Thank you, Natasha. I'm glad it was you who found me." he says. "I don't think I could have handled anyone else."
