Bobby laughed. "People have tried, but Starks and Bartons can't be tamed. Will you be the first to do it?"
"Hey, I'm not just anybody, remember? I'm a demi-goddess." she grins.
"And your your grandmother's tamed your grandfathers, right? And your dad...kinda tamed your mom, so there's hope!" she laughs. "Don't worry, I've got a long, long time to work out my plan for it. Your girls are gonna help me, too." she smiles.
"I think housebroken, but not tamed," he joked. "You can't turn my girls against me you evil temptress!" he laughed and then kissed her deeply.
Ronnie backs away with a mischievous grin.
"Hey, who are you callin' 'evil'?" she asks playfully. "And housebroken is a good start. We'll figure out the rest on a road trip someday." she smiles, letting him kiss her now.
"Not someday. Let's go now. Kang has been dealt with and things are quiet. No time like the present." He kissed her. "Say yes, my beautiful goddess. I can have us packed and on the road in a half hour."
"But..."
Ronnie's protest dies on her lips. There were a million reasons they could find not to stay here. Something new would happen now that Kang was gone. The bad guys weren't going to take a day off to let them be happy, but...they had a real shot at being happy, right now, right this moment. After as many times as they'd saved the world, didn't they deserve just a moment to themselves. "Yes. Yes, Bobby. I'll go anywhere with you." she says.
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her, lifting her off her feet. He spun her around. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Go pack an outfit or two. Nothing more. We'll buy what we need on the road. I'll get Sally ready to go." He kissed her and set her down on her feet.
Ronnie nods and smiles. "Okay, I'll be right back."
She runs upstairs, grabs the first two seasonally-appropriate outfits she finds, along with a scarf. She tosses them in her bag and leaves the way she came. Soon enough, she's back in the garage, looking for Bobby. "Ready to go!"
"I am too," he said. He had run upstairs and grabbed two changes of clothes and toiletries. He also left a message for both sets of parents. The last thing they needed was any of the parental units coming after them.
He had started Sally and had her purring like a kitten by the time Ronnie got back. |
