"Thought you'd never ask." Veronica says, heading to the passenger seat.
"Don't hold back on speed on my account. I've always wanted to know how fast one of these things can go." he says, patting Marla's hood. She'll take a look at this one later.
Oh did he love forward girls so. Bad idea, he reminded himself as he climbed into the driver's seat. Veronica was "I won't, but the speed won't come until we're out of the city."
"Sounds good to me." she smirks. She doesn't fear many things that should rightly be able to kill a normal person, as she is not a normal person.
"Do you prefer the classic types of vehicles or have you every thought about trying to build your own?"
"I like the classics. My Mom's the one who is into the high tech gadgets and cars. Dad's the classic guy and that's where I get it from."
He opened the garage door and started the car. The engine roared to life and then settled into a steady purr.
Veronica loves the scent of the car, the smell of the leather, and buckles in, relaxing as the engine starts up.
"So, how many other girls have you take for a ride in Marla?" she asks.
Bobby shrugged. "One? Two maybe? Most of the time I stay in the city and take the subway. Easier than driving."
"Is that the truth? I like the subway, though it's really funny when I think about my dad using it to knockout a bad guy once." she chuckles.
"What's your favorite thing to do in the city, Bobby?" she asks. |
