Galactus and the Power Gem
Before, there was too much sudden shock and death to think much. Now, Sarah has a lot of space aboard the Shi'ar flagship. Most of the Imperial Guard has been sent to comb other corners of the galaxy, but Adam Warlock and Lilandra alike seemed fairly certain that Galactus would know something, or possibly have been somewhere the Surfer would consider 'safe' for a gem. The down side is, Galactus has not always been the most helpful of beings.
She stands on the bridge, staring out into space, and trying hard to force herself to look ahead, instead of back.

She isn't sure what the plan is for Hela's crew should they get past Morg, but with Thanos and Hela working together, she has no doubt there is one, which means she can't let Fafnir win.

Sarah whirls Mjolnir, even knowing that even Thor could do little to damage the dragon, but she can at least distract it for the herald until she comes up with a plan. She flings Mjolnir for the dragon's head.

	The hammer hit, but the dragon didn't seem to be hurt by it. Instead the head swiveled to look at the individual who dared to think about attacking him. With a roar the dragon seemed to multiply into three dragons. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Awww, damnit, illusions. Not what she needed. Thinking quickly, Sarah whips up a storm, winds, lightning, the works. She has little finesse with it, nothing like Thor's control - but for once, she doesn't feel any need for it, just trying to hit the three big targets with everything the cosmic storm can muster, figuring she's unlikely to do much to Galactus' ship in the process.

The lightning passes through two of the dragons as they were illusions and not affected. The lightning hit the real dragon, but tough dragon hide and scales protected him from the effects.

Fafnir roared and fire poured from his mouth.

On the other side, Morg took advantage of the distraction provided by the girl to catch his breath and they hit the dragon with everything he had.

That's all she needed. Nightcrawler used to play the shell game with the kids to help entertain them, he can keep track of the real dragon.

Sarah dives, leading with the hammer. She knows she's not hurting him, but her goal this time in getting in close is to dive just under his head - so she can use him for cover when she calls the lightning to try and hit around his eyes, hoping to blind him. Her finesse may not be good, but she's gotten the hang of calling a lightning strike down on her own location, when she has cover to survive it - she figures a dragon will do nicely.

	The hit from Morg makes Fafnir pause for a moment. It was just enough to allow the girl to get under his chin. The lightning came down and the bright light and heat blinded the dragon for a moment. He wasn't helpless though. He reached out with clawed hands and tried to swipe and claw the girl. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Only her shield keeps her from losing an arm. As it is, the claw is too big to block entirely, and she takes deep cuts to her shoulder and one thigh, blocking her vitals. Likewise, she feels the heat washing off of Morg's attack. She's thankful the Shi'ar space suits are self-re-sealing, but isn't sure how much more damage it can take and still keep functioning.

Still, she has to buy Lilandra more time. She dives at the area Morg hit, hoping it might be more vulnerable, swinging the hammer at the impact point.

	Morg's attack was noticed and the dragon turned to face the herald. Sarah's attack hit and the dragon roared. The combination of attacks did manage to get noticed through tough scale and hide. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

They have his attention now, at least. Sarah backs off, letting the angered dragon battle the herald while she begins spinning the hammer. She's done this only once before, against the Maestro, whirling the hammer faster and faster, letting it build up electricity and magical energy, even as burns begin to radiate down her arm. She grits her teeth, focusing, trying to contain the energy and putting all her focus into building up more and more, hoping Morg can keep the dragon's attention a little longer.

	The dragon attacked the closest one, who happened to be Morg. Jaws snapped at the herald and claws tried to tear him apart. The herald swung his large axe at the dragon, channeling the Power Cosmic through it. The axe hit and scratched a scale, but the Power Cosmic flowed into the dragon. The was an unearthly scream from the dragon. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The burns build up down Sarah's arm as she channels the power of the Ultimate Strike, continuing to build up, fighting back a cry of pain, channeling more and more of the hammer's power until she finally can't hold on any longer. She flings Mjolnir, trailing lightning and glowing with build up power, launching it into the fray. At least Fafnir is a big target. Lucky, since she's not sure how clear she's seeing at the moment.

	The second hit came and another loud scream came from Fafnir. The two attacks in conjunction caused him damage. He moved back a bit trying to get away from the two attacking him. Morg pressed the attack, once more swinging with the axe and the Power Cosmic. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Sarah would love to press the attack, but she's not feeling so good about now. At least the dragon is moving away. She just catches Mjolnir in a badly cooked hand, and covers up, trying to catch her breath. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Sarah mumbles something back, but goes back on the offensive, until the fire comes. he gets the shield up, but barely, and flames wrap around it, burning a fair amount of her that her own attack didn't get. Still, she surges forward, trying to keep Fafnir occupied, aiming her attacks for the areas Morg's stronger attacks strike. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Morg charged ahead with his axe. A swing and the axe powered by the Power Cosmic came down on Fafnir. Sarah's attacks came in right after and the dragon tried to claw and strike the two attackers. 	Sarah is hit directly and sent tumbling. The impact has her seeing stars, as if the burns weren't enough. She has to let Morg fight alone while she tries to shake the stars out of her vision. Probable concussion, she figures. Still no sign of Lilandra. Making sure her grip on the hammer is secure, anyway, she rushes back in with a charge, leading with the shield. 	Morg hit Fafnir with the ax. That combined with Sarah's attack drove the dragon back. Sarah rushed in and Fafnir didn't expect another attack so quickly. The hammer hit and the dragon retreated some more. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"We're doing it, we're pushing him back." Sarah exclaims, finding it hard to believe herself. She wants to collapse and sleep for about a week, but they seem to be genuinely making progress. 	"Keep pressing the attack," Morg ordered and attacked again. Fafnir roared. He was not used to being hurt. The came the hit by the girl followed very closely by a strike from the guy with the axe. Pain laced through him and he lashed out with claws and teeth. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sarah is hit again, and suddenly feels an intense cold, and the air growing thin. The suit is still resealing itself, but its running out of material, and obviously nearing emergency reserves. She needs to be quick about this now. She swings again, slamming the hammer down on the dragon's nose, and remains in place, trying to appear a tempting target for another gout of fire.

	She isn't sure this will work, but she can feel the space suit boots filling with blood, and isn't so sure how much air she has left. Either this will work, or she's dead. Either way, hopefully they bought enough time. She raises the shield and ducks behind it as much as she can, awaiting the blast of fire. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
