Galactus and the Power Gem
Before, there was too much sudden shock and death to think much. Now, Sarah has a lot of space aboard the Shi'ar flagship. Most of the Imperial Guard has been sent to comb other corners of the galaxy, but Adam Warlock and Lilandra alike seemed fairly certain that Galactus would know something, or possibly have been somewhere the Surfer would consider 'safe' for a gem. The down side is, Galactus has not always been the most helpful of beings.
She stands on the bridge, staring out into space, and trying hard to force herself to look ahead, instead of back.

Sarah knows Skurge has strength and experience on her. Her only chance is to keep him off balance, and use the advantage she has in flight, and hope none of the others get freed up long enough to help.

As he's climbing to his feet, she slams Mjolnir down on the ground, trying to start it quaking, following by rushing again, trying to take his legs out from under him.

	Sarah is struck by the axe. The shield takes part of the impact, but she still goes flying back, skidding along the ground, doing her best to shake off the cobwebs. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Sarah met the axe with Mjolnir, giving ground under the impact and his superior strength. She swings with the edge of the shield as she meets him weapon to weapon. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Skurge met the girl head on and pressed the attack. He tried to push her back, but she was stronger than he had thought she would be. The edge of the shield caught him and he took two steps backward. He swung the axe again. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She's smashed out of the way and into the ground again. This is definitely starting to hurt. Still, she forces herself back up - she has to buy Lilandra more time.

She flings the hammer, intentionally missing, then charges, leading with the shield, trying to force Skurge to block either the returning hammer, angled now to strike him in the back on its return towards Sarah, or block her charge, but not both.

	Skurge turned and brought the axe up to block the hammer. He knew that would be the one to hit harder. Doing so left him wide open for Sarah's attack. He was hit with the shield and went staggering back. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She's got him staggering, even if she's not feeling much better. As soon as she has the hammer back, she calls down a lightning strike. Her precision with this isn't great, and she ends up sending herself flying as well just from the shockwave, but at least she can fly. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Skurge was hit with the lightning strike and then hit with the shockwave. He went flying backward into his own troops. Very slowly he climbed to the feet. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Much as she wishes she could press her advantage, the fight is taking a lot out of her too. She has to use the time he's getting up to catch her breath and shake the numbness out of her bad shoulder.

"I've heard stories of you from Thor. You need to fight this, Skurge... Hela can't have the gem, it would be a disaster for the universe. Let me pass to try and help fight the dragon."

"Because you died protecting the lives of others. I know some of that honor... that regard for life is in there somewhere. If she gets the gem, Thanos gets it... and no one and nothing is safe. That includes Asgard. And then your death would be for nothing. I'm not asking for you to fight Hela's forces... just stand aside."

Yeah, she knows her chances against Fafnir, but every bit counts, right?

	Sarah lifts Mjolnir in salute to the warrior. "You're every bit the man Thor said you were." she acknowledges. "Thank you." Raising the shield, she launches herself towards the battle in the skies nearer Galactus' worldship. (Reply to this)(Parent)
