Song Meme: Poker Face
The Exiles actually managed to get some downtime, meaning they had to sit still for a week, before they had their next mission. Sometimes they had to sit and wait until it was time to do whatever it was they were sent to.

Liv spent the time finding poker games and winning substantial amounts of money. They had to eat and pay for lodgings somehow. May as well put what her mother taught her to good use. It was morning and she was sitting at the small table in the room she shared with Sarah and Meggan counting last night's winnings.

	Liv smiled. "It's true though," she said. "You can tell what cards people are holding by their faces and their body language. You look for the tells. That will dictate how you play. Which is why if you're playing you have to have a great poker face." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Liv shook her head. "It's about all of it. Body language, shifts and facial expressions. We all give signs to what we're feeling or thinking. If you can read those, you can tell what kind of hand they have. Mom taught me to read people. I guess it's kind of necessary being a spy." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sarah nods. "It makes complete sense. And that would be useful for a spy. Dad and some of the others taught me how to read people's combat stances, shifts, moves, things like that - but it was never about faces. Easiest way there to get distracted. Probably very different, but the principle makes sense. So that's where all the bluffing and betting and things come in."

	Liv's face is a blank mask. No expression at all, not even the slightest twitch of facial muscles. She had played poker against someone who had been one of the best spies in the world (to hear Uncle Steve tell it) and the slightest movement or expression would give her away. 	Sarah recognizes the general style at least. When it comes to fighting, she can follow a lot of the same principle. Her dad and uncle were two of the best after all - but in this realm, she's nowhere close. Her poker face isn't bad, per se, but definitely nothing to keep up with Liv's. 	Sarah is a bit more expressive. Her hand isn't bad, but its not great either. Her poker face isn't bad, per se, but for an old hand like Liv, the thought going into what direction to go is obvious. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
