Quinn was getting a lot better with his accuracy when teleporting. He had managed to set them down a few hundred yards outside of Doom’s castle. The last two attempts had been rather successful. The ones before had been failures as he had teleported himself a few miles away from where he had been aiming.

They were still invisible, but Quinn knew Doom would know they were here soon enough. Not much got past Doom, at least the one he knew and he didn’t think this one was too different. “Let’s get moving,” he said as he tried to ignore the dull throbbing in his head. He’d kill for a beer right now.

	"Doom may be brilliant," Patriot mutters quietly as he begins heading further into the castle, "but his arrogance sometimes outdoes his intelligence. The security systems are easy enough to bypass for people of the skills Patriot and Blink possess. The Doombots are a different matter.
In a world where Doom has only two major enemies, and one of them is Magneto, it only makes sense that he'd have adapted a certain bit of technology into his Doombots.

"Mutant signature detected. Doombot 347 responding, backup requested."

	"Oh I should have seen that one coming." Blink threw a shard at the Doombot, designed to teleport half of its body into the other half. That usually stopped the sentinels at the world she came from, at least for a moment. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The Doombot is a little too slow in erecting shields, and collapses in a heap. The sound of shields powering up and more metallic bodies moving their direction can be heard down a few different hallways. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	This time their shields are up. The shards hit, and the shields blink and flicker a moment, but they're back in place by the time the next shard can hit. Taking these down may take some teamwork - meanwhile, they're still firing. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The teamwork works brilliantly, Blink's shards cause the shields to blink out of phase for a moment, and then the bullets strike vulnerable points they thought were shielded.

Its a matter of seconds before the way is clear, with two overriding factors -
Ben Grimm, the Thing, is chained in one of the cells with some sort of energy door, and apparently at least one Ultron is on his way, but not there yet.

	Not a problem. Energy shields need controls somewhere nearby... and Patriot knows how to hack those. "Cover me," he tells Blink, as he seeks out the control panel to rip the cover-plate off and go to work. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Keeping the Doombots off is hard work, but Patriot and Blink have both become very good at what they do. The energy field shuts down just as a red light fills the near hallway, and well down the hall, a different robot appears.
"Organics, you will be terminated. This is the will of Doom."

With the energy field off, the energy shackles holding the prisoner also shut down, and a familiar orange and rocky figure falls heavily to the cell floor, obviously injured, but still trying to get up.
"If yer the rescue party, I hope you got a way out. I'm not exactly in fightin' trim, and Ultie is bad, bad news."
