All of Sarah's concentration was on the fight, and holding the front long enough for some kind of defense to be organized. So the telepathic contact comes as a distinct surprise. The message back is strained - she's wounded, though not badly... yet... and straining to keep up both the fight at this intensity, and the storm, to keep the skies hostile to the fliers until the mutant air force is ready to engage.

Let me know when you've identified the leader. I'll do what's necessary.
She's killed before. She can again, if that's what's necessary. But she's not going to commit to it as the only resort until she knows the whole situation for herself.
She can't help but think of Vampire Queen Storm - her best friend's mother, and her moment of surprise before she disintegrated... or feeling the Vampire Black Panther being crushed.
Damn, she hates vampires.
