In our continuing coverage of Quidditch Nationals: (Semi Final 2) Magia del Sol vs Big Sky at Big Sky [Montana, USA]
Del Sol took Big Sky in a surprising turn of events. The home crowd turned nasty and several students were sent to the infirmary before the end of the night. Del Sol clinched it fairly early on with the tenacious control of their keeper and serious offense of their bludging team. Big Sky was not pleased with the results, but despite a formal complaint Del Sol moves on in the tourney.

In local quodpot news: The Bears lost to the Falcons. This leaves the standings with the Falcons well ahead and representing Dresden as the Quodpot Nationals. Maybe next year Coach Walsh, seems Holden still has some tricks up his sleeve.

Quidditch Results for March 31

Dresden made a good show of it, but couldn't overcome the quidditch juggernaut of Pacific Coast. It's been an interesting year for our quidditch teams and since quodpot has been opened to University students, I can safely imagine our quidditch teams will open up next season as well. This finishes the season for Dresden, but we made some impressive headway in the league this year.

Next week, the Bears vs the Falcons to see who represents Dresden at the Quodpot Nationals.

Continuing coverage of the Quidditch Nationals:

It wasn't a big surprise that Big Sky took the win over Victoria College considering Big Sky sits in the esteemed second rank of the seeding. It was still a tight game, Victoria put out their heavy hitters and kept the score lively, parrying back and forth with Big Sky until the snitch was snatched.

With that win, Big Sky will be moving on to play against Del Sol in the semi-finals.

Blue Ridge made a good show of it, but they couldn't overcome Pacific Coast, the top ranked team in this year's quidditch nationals.

Next week will pit our good old Dresden Herons against the top champ, Pacific Coast out in California. It'll be a match to watch and sadly none of us are allowed to go.

In local quodpot news:
The Falcons beat the Bears soundly (and provided the only real entertainment we've had since being grounded). Final score was 37 to 13.

Good news Quidditch Fans:
Dresden Academy won over Los Alamos. That's right ladies and gentleman, Dresden is heading to the quarter finals of the Quidditch Nationals! Maybe it was the home crowd, or maybe it was the impressive teamwork of our very own Herons, but the team clenched it and we're on to the semi-finals facing either Blue Ridge or Pacific Coast (depending on who wins their match up). It's a bit of a wait folks, until March 31st, but I'm sure we'll continue the proud support of our team until then.

Over at the Prairie School, another exciting match was underway. They faced off against Del Sol in the other quarter final match up. And despite the home field advantage, Del Sol took Prairie in overtime.

Quidditch Nationals! First Round!

Blue Ridge faced off against L'Ecole Royal at the Canadian school and squeaked by with a last minute win. A disheartening loss for the Quebecois on their own field. Blue Ridge moves into the next round and L'Ecole Royal will have to wait another year for a shot at the trophy.

In Local Quodpot News:

The Bears squared off against the Falcons. In a reversal of fortunes, the Bears made a comeback after their brutal (and I mean physically brutal) loss as a newly formed team. Madelyn Cooper proved her worth and led the Bears to victory. Final score: 18 to 12

The Bobcats finally got a break and squeaked out a win against the Blue Ridge Quidditch team. Mei Lan Bai made some rather challenging goals in the course of the game. Final score 220 to 70.

And another surprise upset on the other side of the field. Putnam overtook the overwhelming favorite, Champlain. Kristin Pruitt took down the opposition with brutal force. Final score 32 to 14. This win by Putnam puts the quidditch standings at a standstill with all 5 teams tied.

We'll see you again after the new year.

Herons continued their dominating streak, punishing the Bobcats up and down the Quidditch pitch. Veronica Cantrell has been leading an impressive season with her team and has once again earned the title of MVP.

Hulett pulled an impressive win on Clemons who couldn't quite seem to get it together. Luka Nikitin spent more time ogling the sidelines than paying attention to the quodpot. Ryder Balston's typical penalty box time clock put every other House team's combined penalty quota to shame.

Next week the Bobcats face Blue Ridge at home and Putnam vs Champlain in what is likely to be the most one sided game of the season.

The Bobcats lost against L'Ecole Royal's Alouettes, continuing their serious losing streak.

The Herons on the other hand continued their impressive winning streak against L'Ecole Royal's Bagarreurs. The final score was so disproportionately obscene that we've been politely asked not to post it.

Hudson and Hulett have been head to head in the standings. It was another breath holding, stress inducing, close game. It took two overtimes, but finally Hudson won over Hulett.

Next week is a double header at home. Bobcats vs the nearly unstoppable Herons and Hulett attempts to stop Clemons' winning streak.

It was a double header at Dresden this weekend. The Bobcats pulled the rug out from under the Herons. This year the quidditch teams are head to head in the standings.

In the most nail-biting game of the season so far Clemons squeaked out a win over Putnam. Clemons finally won in overtime with one goal more than Putnam. Adelaide Legaux needed to be restrained at several points in the game (though we'll blame that on Luka Nikitin's flying).

There's no game next week for Thanksgiving break.

The Herons are officially on a winning streak. This week they trounced Pacific Coast up and down the quidditch pitch. Veronica Cantrell made a rather impressive catch of the snitch once the beaters agreed that they'd schooled PC enough. Final score: 350 to 40.

The celebrations at Clemons house tonight promise to be spectacular. It was a brutal match between the so far flawless Champlain and the seasons big loser Clemons. Neither team was giving up points and so many penalty flags flew that both teams nearly ended up with negative points. In the end Clemons claimed the victory, 7 points to 3.

Next week is another double header when the Bobcats face the Herons to see if the latter can maintain their winning momentum and the victorious Clemons house faces last week's winner: Putnam.

Herons won over the Bobcats, proving that they perform better on the home field. It was a surprisingly low scoring game; apparently our teams still haven't recovered from Halloweenfest. Final score: 190 to 20.

Putnam pulled off a win this week over Hudson House. Kristin Pruitt once again proved to be the team MVP, knocking down every offense Coach Lucy Tell's team attempted to put forth. Final score: 38 to 12.

Next weeks quidditch game is the Herons vs Pacific Coast at home. The match up generating all the buzz will be Champlain which has thus far had a no loss season vs Clemons House who are struggling to stay in the season.

The newly dubbed Bobcats didn't have a stellar outing against Big Sky. The team formerly known as A spent much of the game fumbling bludgers and dropping the quaffle. They pulled it together in the final minutes of the game by scoring three quick goals, but it wasn't enough to topple Big Sky's impressive lead. Final score was 280 to 50.

Putnam finally reached their first official game of the season. Too bad they didn't seem able to match the performance of Hulett House. Perhaps Putnam is still reeling from last year's last place finish in the quodpot standings. New tackle/end Kristin Pruitt did her best to rally the team and made some impressive sacks, but it wasn't enough to pull off a victory. Final score 27 to 18.

Next week's matches are a Dresden double header: the Bobcats vs the Herons and Putnam resurrected to take on Hudson House.

Another upset for Team B, which lost to their home field rival Team A. Perhaps those new team names will help Veronica Cantrell get her head back in the game. Final score was 220 to 30.

Champlain crushed Hudson house this week with an unstoppable defense. Scoring 32 points to Hudson's 3, Champlain dominated the day.

Perhaps next weeks match ups of Team A vs. Big Sky (away) and Hulett vs. Putnam won't play so one-sided.

It was an exciting double header for Quidditch this weekend on the home pitch. Team A played against Victoria College's Moose while Team B took on the Jaybirds.

Team A pulled an impressive last minute win over the Moose. Team B didn't have the same gusto as their last game and simply could not hold their own against the Jaybirds. Seeker Veronica Cantrell could hardly keep her seat on the broom.

On the quodpot side of the pitch Hudson reminded everyone that they were fully prepared to take down Clemons. Everyone was surprised to see Luka Nikitin actually on the field of play, but he couldn't seem to get anything past Maddy Cooper. On the other hand, no one was surprised at the amount of personal fouls called on Ryder Balston.

Next week finds Team A facing off against Team B and Hudson squaring off against Champlain.

In the opening Quidditch game of the season Team B pulled off a stunning victory over Team A. Leland Sykes pulled off some excellent assists as the blind side beater and our newly elected student government president, Veronica Cantrell clinched the win with a brilliant play to catch the snitch before Team A could even score a point.

On the other side of the pitch, Champlain maintained their status as the team to beat by opening strong and defeating House Hulett for the official first win of the season. Professor Walsh has it out for you Professor Behrend, might want to get your team out on the field for more practice.

As a reminder there are no games next weekend for Columbus Day break, but when we come back Victoria College challenges both of our quidditch teams on our turf and Clemons Vs. Hudson for quodpot. It's sure to be an interesting face off between the 2nd and 3rd place teams from last year; who really wants to take on Champlain for the throne?
