Monitor duty (open to Outsiders) @ 10:44 pm

[info]rightontarget:

While life had been keeping Lian really busy lately, she still managed to get over to Outsiders Headquarters for a couple of hours everyday. Between trying to find Donna and taking care of Alex, it was hard for Lian to try and find the time, but somehow, she still did. And even if someone wasn't around when she was there, there was a chance that Calypso was almost always there, as she did live in the basement.

Lian was currently in the monitor room, doing her shift of monitor duty. She had a cup of coffee in one hand, and was gently pushing Alex's stroller back and forth in the other, trying to get him to fall asleep. She loved her son, but he was a very lively baby. He gurgled happily as he was pushed. Lian laughed, taking another sip of her coffee as she stared at the screen.

Returning home (J'anna) @ 08:10 pm

[info]bloodred_robin:

Tim unlocked the door and stepped into the apartment, setting his bags down on the floor. It was good to be home again, though he'd gotten the call this morning about his apartment. The repairs were done and he could move in again anytime he wanted. He doesn't know how to feel about that, but if things with J'anna implode, it'll be best to have another place to go.

Things in Gotham had gone as well as they could have and Marissa was a major help in that. He was sorry he couldn't do more to find Keith, but he promised her he'd keep working on it. Now, he just had to not tell Lian and Mia anything so he didn't get their hopes up and hope that Marissa could convince Keith to end this charade and spare his family more pain.

He'd forgotten the baggage he'd left behind in Star City.

He keeps the lights off as the sun goes down, sitting in the dark to brood.

Happy Birthday Marissa @ 10:57 am

[info]crossbow_bat:

Maria wasn't exactly sure what to get Marissa for her birthday, but she had to get something. It was Marissa's eighteenth birthday and that was a big one. Maria remembered hers quite fondly. It was the birthday that ended up sitting in jail cell for a few hours. The memory made her smile.

Maria had gone the safe route in terms of a gift. A certificate for the works at a great spa Maria recently found and the best Belgian truffles. The gifts were accompanied by a card and Maria urged Marissa to go raise some hell on her birthday and to have fun.

A personal mission (Jai). @ 08:50 am

[info]batdaughter:

Keith wasn't dead.

This knowledge pounded through Marissa's head every second of her waking days, most significantly when she was dealing with Keith's family.  Dinah had made the gesture of inviting Marissa to come out to be with the family for the funeral preparations which meant that she was surrounded at any given moment by someone who should know that Keith was alive.  Dinah was easy to fool; the woman's grief was palpable and she voluntarily kept herself distracted by alternately working on Mia's wedding and the funeral.  Oliver never acknowledged her, which was fine.  Men have their own ways of grieving.  She hadn't had much contact with Mia, either, but that was by design.  Marissa still hadn't forgiven herself for letting Mia die so it was already awkward.  Sin, however, had been harder to shake.  The small woman seemed to be looking right through Marissa at every turn.  Keith was right; she was creepy. Marissa was fairly certain she knew something was wrong, which made Marissa faintly paranoid.  Keith wasn't dead.  She knew it and she really couldn't sit around and do nothing about it.

Left alone in Keith's room, Marissa found one of his old cellphones.  A few moments later she had his contact list and there was a particular number she was looking for.

I need to talk to someone about Keith. Star Tower Hotel restaurant 4pm. -MW

She had been generous with the time, but she knew Jai West was fast so Marissa was already there waiting when she sent the text.

Friends and Family (open) @ 10:55 pm

[info]terra_mater:

"How did you get this number?"

...

"No, I don't think that is a good idea."

...

"There is a reason she didn't tell you.  Your world is no place for me."

...

"I can't.  Goodbye."

Calypso hung up the cell phone Lian had given her and turned it off.  She didn't want another unexpected call from that man again.  The simple fact that she had met him went against everything she wanted.  She didn't want to meet her father, and she certainly didn't want to be recognized as his daughter.  It wasn't that she hated him or disliked him.  Calypso just wasn't made for that world.  Her world was set to a different tone -- it was darker, dirtier, rougher, and tougher.

After that call, she needed something else to keep her mind at ease.  She went upstairs to the ground floor of the Outsiders compound and started cooking Hamburger Helper.  It was her favorite meal.  Creamy Chicken Noodle was her comfort flavor.

"I don't know half of you half as well as I would like" @ 12:05 am

[info]veryperceptive:

His 18th Birthday. A pretty big deal. And GK was cheerfully wrapping presents, taking a cue from Hobbit culture like a rich, pampered, and geeky boy logically might as well do.

He'd already made sure presents would be waiting for his family when they got back from Switzerland. In the meantime, he had something for Zoe, her Mom, the gang at work, the Outsiders -- to be delivered in costume -- and, last but not least, Eli.

Once the ones for work were dropped off, he headed for the triangle with two packages. On the way, he checked the mail.

There was a card. He blinked in shock to see that the postmark was from England, the return address from the Holdaways' firm. Did they actually give a damn all of a sudden?
And then he read it, and he was barely past the 'Dear Gilbert, Congratulations on your 18th birthday' when he statrted grinding his teeth.

It should have taken more effort to read between the lines. They should have put more effort into looking like, after all this time, they were into something more than getting Grandma's account back. He guessed to people like that, eighteen years and nine months was just a little blip in in a nearly three-century business deal.

He folded the card and shoved it in his pocket as he headed to Zoe's. Very quickly, since he wasn't bringing his stick.

Happy birthday, J'anna! @ 12:20 am

[info]rightontarget:

J'anna was one of Lian's best friends. So naturally, her birthday was not going to go unnoticed. And Lian knew just what to get her. Cookware and chocos. She'd gotten her a new bread machine. And while Lian couldn't cook or bake to save her soul, the bakery down the street from Outsiders headquarters could...and Lian had them make an entire cake out of Oreos. Well... technically, she had to get two cakes, because she knew that J'anna would eat the oreo cake all by herself. Lian got a red velvet for everyone else, as she knew that the oreo cake would be gone in a matter of minutes.

Lian placed the cake and the wrapped bread machine on the kitchen counter in Outsiders HQ. She'd told the rest of the team about J'anna's birthday.

Happy birthday! (April 22nd) @ 12:16 am

[info]rightontarget:

It had been tricky, but after doing a lot of digging, Lian had managed to find out when Calypso's birthday was.

And no, she did not attempt to bake a cake. The last time that happened...well it hadn't exactly gone over well. Her father still said he could smell the scent of charred chocolate cake mix in the kitchen. Instead, Lian had gone out earlier and sprung for catering and a cake at the bakery down the street from her apartment that she had taken Cal to when she was living with her when she first arrived in Star City.

For Christmas, Lian had gotten her a cellphone. This time she bought her some new clothes. Yes, she was on a budget, but she did manage to get her friend a couple of nice outfits.

Lian told the other Outsiders that she planned on celebrating Calypso's birthday and were welcome to celebrate with her, if they wanted to. She set the food out on the kitchen counter and went to go find the birthday girl, gift in hand.

When there's nothing left to burn.... (Tim) @ 08:56 pm

[info]burningmartian:

She scared a fire investigator.  The man was sifting through the remains of what had been Tim's building when J'anna all of a sudden rose out of the ashes all green and Martian with her bright red eyes and wisps of flames dancing up from her body.  She was as confused as he was scared and it took her a moment before she managed to go invisible and slip out of the decimated structure without delay or questions from the investigator.  J'anna had questions of her own, though, what the hell happened being chief among them.  Several blocks from what had once been her home J'anna slipped into her visible human form as she tried to sort things out.  She remembered date night with Tim, all curled up on the couch.  She remembered the sudden appearance of Giselle.  She remembered...her heart being torn out.  Being dead.  She remembered that feeling, that moment where the color disappeared from before her eyes and J'anna remembered her vision being replaced and everything going colder.  It was then her memories began to change, almost like she was outside herself and inside her mind all at the same time.  Tim had destroyed the building to save himself and she?  She'd burned int he flames only to leave things behind and go straight for her father and Jenn.

As she walked along J'anna was acutely aware of everything she'd said to her father and her friend and with each step she was more and more horrified.  How could she have said those things?  Those weren't things one spewed at their father, but she'd said them.  And, worse, had meant them.  Tim thought she was dead.  She'd said horrible things to her father and friend.  She again had no home and no place to belong.  Well, that wasn't exactly true.  There was one place she knew she could go.  Tim had shown her the place once, his backup base in the Triangle.  it was a safe place that she could go so that is exactly where she went.  When she arrived she realized that she wasn't the only person hiding out there.  There were a couple of barely-eaten bowls of ramen on the work table and the small bed in the corner looked like it had barely been slept in.

Tim.

J'anna couldn't help herself.  She went directly to the bed and curled up on it, holding the pillow to her chest hoping it might smell like Tim.  She was so bewildered, embarrassed and scared,.  She was desperate for comfort wherever she could find it.

Medical miracles. @ 05:13 pm

[info]redarrowmia:

After much making out in the middle of the battlefield, followed by a night of intense passion back at their apartment (God, she'd missed being alive, not to mention Zach), Mia woke up early the following moment after her return from the grave and made her way to Star City General Hospital. Alive again or not, she was probably still HIV positive and would need to get back on her strict regimen of medication.

There was a lot of explaining to the doctors why someone who had been legally dead for the past few months was suddenly alive and kicking like nothing had happened. Mia filed out some forms for insurance, and then went through a series of various tests to see if everything was in order.

A couple of hours after her tests, the doctor came back into the room, a truly astounded look on his face as he stared at Mia's charts.

"Ms. Dearden, there were some...unusual results in your tests. We'd like to keep you under observation for a few days."

Mia nodded, wondering what could have possibly happened. Had something happened when she came back to trigger her HIV into full-blown AIDS? She didn't want to think about it.

The Big Finale @ 09:18 pm

[info]dc_misc:

The city of Star City looked deserted. The citizens had either fled or had been turned into black lanterns. At the heart of the city was the entity known as Nekron. Nekron used the city as his base as his black lanterns ravaged the Earth.

The black lanterns increased their numbers each day and the power levels of the black lantern battery increased with each person that died.

Soon Nekron would have enough power to obliterate all life on this planet.

The world's going to hell...but happy birthday, anyway. @ 12:01 am

[info]rightontarget:

While Lian wasn't exactly in the mood for celebrating (not that she was throwing a huge party or anything, anyway), she wasn't going to let Joey's birthday go by unnoticed. Besides, she wanted something to take her mind off of things, and this certainly would do it for at least a little while.

While Joey had never told her his birthday, she had ways of finding these things out.

Lian brought Joey a case of beer and a couple of skin mags. She went to go find him so she could give them to him and wish him a happy birthday.

Running on Empty @ 05:04 pm

[info]bloodred_robin:

Tim Drake has been hard at work for the last two days, rarely eating or sleeping since J'anna's death. Frank Wells was dead, so he couldn't have arranged this kind of sick surprise. Tim combed his memories for the extensive list of people who could know his identity and put something like this together. The resources necessary for this kind of psychological warfare were above and beyond those of most of his enemies, but there were a few who could still pull it off. But then it took a special kind of psycho to /want/ to do something like this at all.

A Night of No Stars (Tim) @ 02:08 pm

[info]burningmartian:

It was a rare night when patrol--for both Tim and J'anna--was shorter than the usual so they decided to take advantage of it with a quiet night in: dinner, some dvds, and then quality time (snuggling included.)  They were already well into part two of their evening, with J'anna curled up on the couch with Tim, a big bowl of popcorn on the coffee table and one of the old black and white romances J'anna seemed permanently enchanted with on the television.  J'anna herself was about half asleep and she suspected Tim was, too.

That's when she heard a noise.

"Tim, did you hear that?"

Return to Star City @ 01:27 pm

[info]sonic_arrow:

Green Arrow stalked the streets of Star City with his brother, Merlyn.  Wasn't that some kind of twist in the storyline?  The two roles were so opposite of each other, and yet they were paired off in a mission together.

Councilman Vontrell Griffin II was in his home in Soulk Village.  The lights were still on in the living room, which Keith recognized.  He'd met the councilman before, with his father.  He had a family; a wife and children.  The thought of killing him sickened Keith to the core, but what could he do?  Damien was pulling the strings.  At least Robert was there, though.  He was the only one Keith felt he could rely on in this situation.

Wanted Criminal (open to reactions) @ 01:08 am

[info]dc_misc:

Reporters lined up outside of the Gotham City Police Station, filming the transport of the Artist's body from the police station into a van.  The police officers were all grumbling about being caught off guard by the assault on their station.  The, finally, the Chief of Police stood up on his podium and made his broadcast announcement.

"Robert Franklin 'Frank' Wells, otherwise known as The Artist, was murdered last night in his cell.  He was recently brought in for a string of murders of multiple women, including the local crime fighter, Red Arrow.  We have identified the culprit of this murder.  He has strong ties to the Red Arrow and has been recently seen in Gotham.  The man who murdered Robert Wells is none other than the Green Arrow."

The Chief of Police took that moment to hold up the large bag containing a bloodied green arrow, taken from the Artist's forehead.

"The Green Arrow is now a wanted criminal.  All who see him are advised to call the police so he can be brought in for his crime."

The cameras were turned away from the Chief of Police then, and each reporter put their own shocked responses and questions to the tail ends of their reports.  The news filled the television screens all across the United States.  Word was out on the Green Arrow.

The Hard Part @ 07:56 pm

[info]bloodred_robin:

Hey, if something happens to me one night, I need you to make sure Zach knows, okay? I don't want him to be the last person to know.

Today was one of those rare days when Tim Drake hated being a man of his word. J'anna and Lian stayed over in London to talk to J'anna's mother, but Tim decided to head back and get other things in order. He was happy for his girlfriend, but there was too much left undone right now to rest.

One of his best friends was gone.

He'd placed a call to Conner and Cassie to let them know, but asked them to keep things quiet until after he'd spoken to Zach. They promised they would.

Then he dialed Zach's number. For once, he got Zach's answering machine. He must be out with his new partners or something. Mia mentioned that he'd found a few more people into magic like him.

"Hey, Zach. Can you stop by my place, man? It's important.

It's about Mia." he says.

New Year's Dead (New Year's Day, Open to reactions) @ 11:36 pm

[info]dc_misc:

The information has been coming in from around the world since 1:00 am EST. Each news outlet tells the story in a slightly different fashion, but the facts remain the same: at some time after 12:00am, planes on five continents fell from the sky, cars slammed into each other in traffic and regular people going about their every business simply fell over unconscious for no discernible reason.

"This is Austin Davis for the Daily Planet. The only word that can adequately describe what has happened is "catastrophe". Information is still coming in at this time, but it seems that most of Earth's inhabitants seemed to lose consciouness for exactly two minutes. In that time, planes,c cars and buses crashed, pedestrians were hit where they lay, and the world fell into chaos. Even now, the death toll is nearing the double digits and still climbing.

Stranger still is that the survivors, this reporter included, all report having a lucid dream of some kind during their black-out. Few dreams were alike, but one common thread unites them all; each person spoken to thus far believes they saw a relative or friend or lover who passed away some time ago returning to speak with them and offer advice. Many are shaken and unable to understand the meaning of these visions or why they were given.

The heroic community has leaped into action valiantly, aiding in relief efforts, but many are asking if the heroes knew about it in advance. Moreover, may are asking why America remained unaffected by the blackout. Thus far, no portion of the United States has reported any crashes or loss of life due to the blackout. We will bring you more on this story as it develops.

Austin Davis for the Daily Planet, London."

New Year's @ 07:46 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

The beginning of a New Year, a time for new hopes, new experiences to come. A time to reflect on times past, remembering fond memories happily and trying to put less pleasant thoughts and experiences in the past.

It is a time of renewal, a time of rebirth. And for much of the world, it is a time of celebration. This is no less true for the super hero set as anyone else. If anything, they just have that much bigger of things to look forward to.

Where do we go from here? (Open to Batfamily) @ 02:25 am

[info]newimprovedbat:

Terry sat in the Batcave, in costume, but without his mask on. His mask, he was holding his hands, just staring at it.

Bruce was dead. Bruce had been killed by the same assassin that Terry had stopped from killing Bruce earlier that week, at the business meeting.

He hadn't been there to protect him this time, though. Last time he had been there. Last time he had stopped it.

Damnit. What the hell was he supposed to do now? He blamed himself for not being there when Bruce needed him the most, and he wouldn't hold it against her if Marissa did too.

Terry just continued to sit in the chair in front of the monitor screen, staring at his mask like it held all the answers.

I'm sorry to have to tell you this... (Keith and Tim) @ 10:07 pm

[info]batdaughter:

(*takes places after the Songbirds finale*)

She still had Mia's blood on her.  She still had on the wrecked remains of her party dress and one of the shoes and she still wasn't sure how much of the rest of the evening had transpired, but one thing stood out crystal clear.  Mia was dead.  Mia had pushed her out of the way and taken an arrow to the heart.  An arrow fired by a madman that Marissa had pledged to stop.

She had failed, but that wasn't the painful part.  The painful part was that her failure had ended the life of Keith's sister, of Tim's friend. She was responsible for the death of a woman dear to her boyfriend and her brother.

She had to call them.  Keith first.  Marissa dialed the number she knew by her very heavy heart.

[info]partdemon:

Mike had talked to Sindella about what the girls had been up to so secretly and may have used telepathy to read her surface thoughts and found out about Rate the Hunk. Sindella had not been very happy about that and made him swear not to ask anything more about that and that he was going to have to do something big to make it up to her.

But he had been given the idea to host a rate the babe event for the guys because that sounded like a ton of fun to him. Since he was done with classes for the semester he drove to metropolis to set things up for the party at his dad’s penthouse there.

He sent out invites to all the teams he knew about that they could come and also made a special note to the teleports to not try directly teleporting inside with the wards his dad had set up

.He then set up the projector for the photos and got enough food and drinks to feed everyone one then some.

The Final Act @ 07:54 pm

[info]dc_baddie:

"Well, well, well... Brion Markov, you have a bastard daughter. Who would have guessed, right?"

Frederick chuckled as he paced back and forth. Behind the plate glass window, locked in a shuttle, were Calypso and Brion Markov. Frederick took the time out of his day to mock them from the control center. He had figured out the relation between the two heroes some time ago, and it was a point of pride for Frderick that Brion hadn't known until just that moment.

"And now that the two of you are helpless, I'm going to make sure you really leave this world. My mother was the one that gave Geo-Force his powers, Brion. I know exactly how to kill you, and your daughter. Oh, how I anticipate your dying words. What kind of touching moment will it be?"

He cut off the transmission for the moment and cackled. Then he checked in his new motley crew of Geo-Force mock-ups.

Giving Thanks @ 05:10 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." JFK

In America today is a day for being thankful for the things in people's lives. Today was a day to celebrate family, friends, prosperity and health with food, family and friends. It is a time to reflect on what is important us and to recognize the gratitude we hold for having those things in our lives.

After all is said and done....(open to Outsiders) @ 02:27 am

[info]rightontarget:

Takes place before Calypso leaves.

Lian surveyed the damage done to the Outsiders' base. While the place wasn't exactly in ruins, it didn't look like her apartment after she'd torn it apart looking for something she'd misplaced, either. Shards of broken glass here, a burnt table there.

She sighed. It was all replaceable. She could make a couple of calls and get everything fixed.

But she couldn't stay. She'd made a huge mistake, in going off undercover in the League on her own, without telling anyone. Yes, the team knew that she had been undercover, her and Tim made pretty damn sure to fill them in on that little detail when they briefed them on the League, but they didn't know the whole story. About her and Damien.

It was her fault that this had happened. Her fault that the League attacked.

Her fault that her best friend was dead.

She couldn't allow herself to put her teammates at risk like that again. She'd gather her things, make sure that arrangements for repairs were made, and then she'd leave, and they'd never have to see her again.

Anarchy @ 11:49 pm

[info]dc_misc:

"Coming to you live from the capitol city of Markovia is Darlene Johnson, of Channel 13 News. The deaths of Iona Markov, the Queen of Markovia, and her son, Gregor Jr., crowned prince of Markovia, has put the country in a state of anarchy.

"It appears that a group of men dressed like the hero Geo-Force have been patrolling the streets, causing more chaos and killing many people.

"And who is the one responsible for all of this chaos? Brion Markov, ex-Regent of Markovia. He was captured earlier, but has since escaped and his whereabouts are unknown at present.

"This is Darlene Johns- AAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

The TV screen went black and white with fuzz, and then switched to the anchors sitting in their seats, in shock with fear at the last image shown on the screen; a stream of lava dousing Darlene and the camera crew.

There will be blood @ 12:23 pm

[info]demonchild:

It was going to be a dark day in Star City.

Or at least, it was going to be a dark day for those that dared to tangle with the League of Assassins.

The plan was set in motion, and the League was on the move.

They each had their mission. Vesper had already done his part and freed Bane from where they had been holding him. The guards at the Super-Max were currently keeping their hands full with a full-prison riot. It had been discovered that Slade Wilson was no longer at the prison, having been broken out by a team of individuals sometime previous, though that was neither here nor there.

Getting a location for where Red Robin and his allies would be was difficult, but the Informant wasn't just your everyday run-of-the-mill hacker, she was one of the best.

And now, Morgaine, along with her brother's decoy and the rest of the League, were in a helicopter headed straight towards Outsider's headquarters.

"The plan is simple," Morgaine said, briefing her team for a final time before they began their attack. "While the Demon's Head has instructed us to kill anyone that stands in our way, we are merely providing a distraction while he rescues his Lady from her imprisonment. Do not hesitate do deliver a killing strike, but wiping out the entire team is not required of us at this time. We will keep them busy until the Demon's Head informs us that he has Lian, and then we will make our getaway.

Understood?"

A chorus of yeses arose from the team, and Morgaine nodded. "Excellent. We will be approaching the target shortly."

When the helicopter was in within range of the Outsiders headquarters, a rocket was fired at one of the windows. Not one to bring the entire place to the ground, but it would definitely set the alarms off, at the very least.

The team reached the drop off point, and the League of Assassins came in through the blown-out window. Morgaine pulled out both of her swords, a bloodthirsty grin crossing her face.

"Knock-knock."

Tangled @ 02:17 am

[info]bloodred_robin:
Current Music: Tangled- Maroon 5

Red Robin has been watching the Dobrev Cartel's movements for the last week, since he decoded some of the information he procured from the Shadow Broker's pawn. The Dobreva's are aiding Mexican Cartels in getting weapons and drugs into the United States. Shutting them down would mean crippling a major source of income for these people. He'd already contacted Detective Falconeri of the Star City Police Department to give him the names for the warrants he should obtain as well as informing him of where the S.W.A.T. team needed to be.

Two hours before their team goes hot, Red Robin is in the Triangle, infiltraiting the building and shutting down their communications. He'll do this alone, despite the forces he can bring to bear, because he needs to know that he can still operate on  his own.

Creeping along silently, Tim sneaks up behind the next guard and locks him in a sleeper hold, dragging him into an abandoned apartment nearby and setting him down. As soon as his struggle stops, Tim sneaks out of the apartment and into the stairwell.

So far, so good.

The shooting hadn't been publicized yet, hadn't hit any airwaves or made any headlines, according to the Detective. Someone high up in the government has called in favors to keep things under wraps. That was the first thing that caught Red Robin's attention.

Team Meeting @ 02:33 am

[info]first_son:

The Titans of myth being freed from Hades goes beyond just the YJLA. The adults are also working on it, but haven't had a lot of luck, especially with so many of their number in semi-retirement. As such, Jon moved beyond his original plan to hold a meeting of his team, and called to invite representatives of the other teams as well, calling all active roster YJLA, and inviting the other teams to send 1-3 people so things didn't get too crowded. Then they can inform their people what's going on.

"So, folks, we have a big problem. The monsters and beings that have been appearing around the world were freed from the dimension Hades. We don't know how or by who. The Olympian gods have not been forthcoming, even to the Amazons, and even very powerful mystics have been unable to pierce the mystery... though past experience has taught us that's often the case with affairs of the gods. They limit their direct interference in mortal affairs, in exchange, mortals have a very hard time dealing directly with them. Sadly, even though the original Grecian Titans don't have any such compact, to learn what happened, we'd need to get past Hades' protections. The Greek gods may be incapacitated, or may be somehow bound by the compact of the gods. Its very possible that once the original Titans reached Earth, their captors couldn't directly interfere."

He sighs. "Direct confrontation isn't the likely answer. Single gods have fought groups including my father, Wonder Woman and a handful of other senior leaguers. Many of the Titans have the power of an entire team. The Titans are more powerful still - the only reason the Greek Gods defeated them was due to greater unity and better tactics. Don't mistake me - they can be beaten, but we're going to need a good plan, and possibly more allies and greater resources. At this point, I'm open to ideas."

Helios @ 09:45 pm

[info]dc_titansofmyth:

Near Logan International Airport there were a number of industrial areas. Warehouses and manufacturing plants were scattered through out the area and closing in on a manufacturing planted owned by LexCorp was Helios, Titan and once worshiped as the sun god. Until Zeus and his Olympians usurped the Titans and cast them into Hades.

Helios pulled upon his fiery powers and engulfed the plant in flames.

Public Relations Control @ 07:11 pm

[info]old_windbat:

There had been a lot of publicity around Marissa Wayne leaving for Star City, and it was something she couldn't maintain.  Instead, Bruce had to calm the media storm surrounding the five individuals it affected the most; Bruce, Marissa, Tim Drake, Keith Queen, and Ollie Queen.  Bruce had managed to remove the Queens from the equation and settle things down by explaining that he sent Marissa to live with Tim Drake for an extended period of time while Bruce was dealing with health issues.  It wasn't true, of course, but news of Bruce with a concerning health condition kept the media at bay.  Anything surrounding the name "Wayne" at that point was generally about who would take over Wayne Industries after he died.

It should be fairly quiet until Marissa finally returns home.  Bruce knew full-well that Tim would be accompanying her.

Soiree Espionage @ 07:31 pm

[info]burningmartian:

There was a week between the afternoon she worked her way into a recon partnership with Red Robin and the evening of the event and J'anna hadn't wasted a moment of it.  With the scant information she had been provided while Red Robin ate, she had done some of her own digging and her own research not just on the targets but also on the event they would be attending.  It had all lead to shopping.  One couldn't go to an event without a proper dress and there was the added complication: the fact that she kind of liked Red Robin so she wanted to not only look appropriate, but also pretty.  Not as though it would particularly matter, she had reasoned, but since she'd never gotten to go to prom (another consequence of Lian's endless pursuit of White Martians) she figured what the hell.

The preparation was all classic J'anna. She not only looked perfect but was done early and was properly waiting for Red Robin to show up, idly wondering if he'd be in cape and cowl.  That could be amusing.  There was one twist to her appearance, however.  Rather than being dressed in her typical June Cleaver meets J Crew modest fashion, the Martian was wearing a knockout of a blue gown that showed plenty of shoulder and was bare from her neck to the small of her back.

It was blue.  She liked it.

Hitting the dusty trail (open to Outsider's reactions) @ 01:44 am

[info]rightontarget:

Lian had been giving this some thought. Ever since she'd discovered that her mother was alive.

Cheshire needed to be stopped. While Cheshire was her mother, and yes, Lian did love her, and knew that her mother loved her in her own way, she couldn't just let her keep killing people.

She had to find. Had to make sure that she stopped her for good. While she wouldn't kill her own mother, she could at least make sure that she was put away somewhere where she WOULDN'T escape this time.

This was something she had to do on her own. As much as she trusted her new team, it was something she had to do with no help.

Besides, where she was going...she couldn't take her team. Hell, she couldn't even take her costume. Jade Arrow had to be left behind, and Lian had to become someone else.

Grabbing her bow and throwing knives, she left a note for the Outsiders.

Hey all,

I have to go away for awhile. I have family things that need to be taken care of, and I don't know how long it's going to take me. J'anna, you and Red Robin are in charge until I get back.

-Lian

Lian left the note taped to the fridge and left the building. She had a plane to catch.

Goodbye, Grasshopper @ 09:36 pm

[info]bloodred_robin:

Tim calls Marissa into the living room and indicates that she needs to take a seat on the couch. He's wearing his workout gear, and he doesn't look happy about whatever he's about to say, but he knows it needs to be said.

"Hey, kid. We need to talk about you and Gotham." Tim says, sitting down with her.

The Darkheart @ 11:42 pm

(Timebendyed so anyone can be involved)

Jerry had heard that there was suppose to be an amazing meteor shower tonight and the best place to see it was in the Arches National Park in Utah. He had let dad knew he was going to spend the night there which his dad was totally fine with.

After teleporting in with some basic supplies he started looking for a good place to watch it from. Teleporting around the park he saw a mesa that looked like he could get a great view from. He snapped his fingers and appeared in a flash of green at the top of the mesa.

What he saw up there was something that he Jerry Carr had trouble believing. There was a organic looking machine with little robotic drones eating the rocks. And one charged right at him.

Quickly snapping both hands he teleported away and teleported a boulder right on top of the drone crushing it. Jerry let out a sigh of relief until he noticed that the drones were now eating the boulder and forming even more drones.

This was bad and Jerry knew he could not handle this by himself and felt that it would be smart to call in as much help as he could.

Teleporting back to his stuff away from the mesa he grabbed his cell phone and started calling all of the people he knew who were superheroes to get as much help as he could.

Go time @ 04:49 pm

[info]rightontarget:

bendytimed to the night after Cheshire fled Gotham

Lian, J'anna, and Calypso were at Queen Industries on stakeout. Or rather, on the rooftop across from Queen Industries, that is. Lian pulled out her night-vision goggles, as they waited for Red Robin to meet up with them. Lian had alerted him earlier on the comms that they were going on stakeout tonight.

She'd gotten in some more information about who they were looking for. From what she could gather, they were based from out of Gotham City, or somewhere near that area. Also, from what she'd picked up, they had added someone else to their roster. Someone who's methods were more...lethal than the rest of the group's. Lian had a sinking feeling of it could possibly be, but that was a big, fat, if. After all...she was dead, right?

"He should be here soon," Lian said, her eyes still focused on the building's windows as she looked for any unusual activity. "Keep an eye out. Then, we'll take it from there."

Star City by night @ 09:27 am

[info]rightontarget:

Jade Arrow made her way over Star City's rooftops, Calypso and J'anna at her side. She'd been helping Cal settle into Star City and hero life, and had brought J'anna along on patrol with her that evening so Calypso could meet another superhero their age.

Also, she needed backup with her this evening.

Someone had broken into Queen Industries the other night and stolen some important tech. And from what Lian had gathered when she investigated earlier she was able to figure out a couple of clues- one, it was a group that had broken in last night. And two, they hadn't gotten everything that they wanted. From what the security guards had told her as well, they had never seen any villains like these in Star City ever before last night.

Lian took a moment to pause over on the rooftop.

"Okay," she said, turning to Calypso and J'anna, "Let's go over what we know again."

Who do you trust? @ 09:02 pm

[info]batdaughter:

Months after her mother's murder Marissa decided to start going through the paper box labeled "confidential' that she'd taken out of Vicki's bedroom.  Vicki had grown distrustful in the months prior to her end, having taken to storing only the absolute barest of information on her work computer while storing the real information elsewhere.  The editor hadn't been able to find anything further, nor had any of the police when they looked over her computer.  No one had considered the box; Marissa herself had forgotten about it, chalking it up to just a haphazard collection of photo albums, old notebooks, a piece of jewelry or two.  Yet something made her open it.

Hours later she was on her way to Star City, having bothered only to mention to Bruce that she would be "out" for awhile and to not wait up.  The old man was creepy enough that he probably would figure out where she went before she even got there anyway.  It was the specific destination in Star City that would be harder for anyone to trace.  Bruce Wayne may have been the World's Greatest Detective, but Vicki Vale had been pretty clever in her own right; their daughter had inherited the best of both.  A little bit of digging, a few idle threats, a little bit of money changing hands and soon enough Marissa had exactly what she needed.

221 Arbor View Road.

She rang the bell.

A Night in the Big City @ 07:27 pm

[info]bloodred_robin:
Current Location: Star City

He drives the bike into the alley and kicks the stand down, preparing himself mentally for what he'll find. He's been in town two weeks, and the killings have already started. He was hoping to see Mia, to talk to her before this got too far, but the fourth dead prostitute in as many weeks has pushed itself to the forefront of his priorities. Someone needed to understand why everything was happening the way it was, and, though he'd never admit it, Tim wants to talk to someone that will understand why he's going to kill the monster doing this when he finds him.

Someone who knows him has to be able to explain to Bruce and Dick why he broke their cardinal rule.

He steps off the bike, pulls a grappling gun from his utility belt, aiming it skyward. He fires, and the gas-powered line shoots straight up the side of the three-story building, catching itself on the the lip of the roof. He gives the line two good tugs, and finds it stable. The building he needs to get to is three blocks away, and crawling with reporters, police and gawkers, all wanting a piece of the story. His thoughts abruptly shift to someone else, and he forces them away, not wanting to follow the thoughts to their conclusion. He doesn't want to think of how he found The Artist's first victim, which is the same way he will find the current one.

He climbs the roof, thinking about each step in succession as he pulls himself upward, counting the steps so as not to think of how he's failed to save these women from a mad man. Each one is like a knife in his guts, and those are only the ones he knows of. Tim wonders how many more have been killed because he let this man escape him?

Once he's on the rooftop, he begins his run toward the 8th Street Motel, leaping from rooftop to rooftop. This is not Gotham, not his city, but he respected Oliver Queen, Roy Harper, Connor Hawke and Mia Dearden. He still respects all of them, and this psycho came here to continue his work.

Red Robin will not let him finish it.
