By Fives We Bring Them Low.... @ 05:32 pm

[info]dc_apokolips:

Just Outside Metropolis.....

Eventually, the Kryptonian girl stopped struggling.

They'd taken her unaware and she'd still crippled nearly a dozen of the Parademons he'd brought to complete the mission. Still, as she slumps the ground unconscious, Desaad smiles. The master will be happy for the success, if only because they'd taken the daughter of the hated Kryptonian. When they were done with her, the rage of the one called Superman would peak beyond anything ever seen. His anger would be legendary.

Darkseid had foreseen it, so it would come to pass.

Take the girl. She is needed on Apokolips." Desaad says, opening the Boom Tube back to the homeworld. One of the Parademons lifts Jo Kent and drags her into the portal with little issue.

"I have another to find." he says, motioning to the others.

BFF time (Jo) @ 10:59 pm

[info]loveconquersall:

Chrissy was bored. She had no plans, and it was a great day out. She suddenly knew exactly what she wanted to do with the rest of her day.

She texted Jo.

So...I call best friends day. It starts now. Get your speedy butt over here, missy.

Touring Titans Tower @ 06:35 pm

[info]semievilgenius:
Current Location: Titans Tower

Helping the Titans defeat those robots at the college had been one thing, but actually being invited to the Tower itself? He had to admit he was geeking out a little.  Fortunately when they saw him with the EMP generator they concluded he had stopped the problem, not cause it. Of course after that there was the intial shock at the revelation of his last name. Suspicion, uneasiness, just like always. Strangely enough Mourning Dove had stuck up for him, vouching for his character. And here he was. He had to restrain the urge to run around studying everything inside.

Not Florence Nightingale @ 08:24 pm

[info]crossbow_bat:

Maria had heard about the battle on the island of Atlantis and heard Superboy had been hurt. News traveled rather quickly in the cape community, not to mention Terry was a member of the YJLA. Maria had to admit that she was a little worried. For Jon because he was hurt and the fact that something had seriously hurt him in the first place.

Still he was one of the few friends Maria had in this crazy world and she would pay him a visit to make sure he was going to be okay. Maybe to get him to smile too. The boy definitely needed to smile more.

She made a stop or two before going to visit him.

My Semi-Decent Sweet Sixteen (Jon) @ 08:39 pm

[info]maidofmight:

(Backdated to May 31st)

At 6:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, Jo Kent was awake and putting on jeans and an old t-shirt. She moved quietly down the stairs knowing that Mom and Dad were both already at work, most likely. That was fine. She was hoping not to have to explain herself. Jon was probably out helping save the world as usual, which was also fine. She /really/ didn't want to have to explain this to her big brother, because it was too embarassing.

Slipping out the house and locking the door behind her, Jo blurred into action, heading toward Smallville, Kansas with all due haste. She looked high and low for the perfect spot to practice, because she didn't want anyone to see her in case this went poorly. Finally, when she came across the old water tower, she raced to the top...and looked down. The area for miles around was deserted, Dad had told her, and she hoped it was true.

Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Jo Kent leaps away from the tower, sailing into the air for one, two, three, four, five seconds....

...and then gravity casts its all-seeing eye upon her attempt to fly and drags her back to the Earth with a painful thud. Undaunted, Jo rises and races back to the top of the water tower to try again.

-----

Forty-three attempts later, Jo Kent is convinced that she knows the truth:

She is the world's only defective Kryptonian.

She sits at the top of the water tower, lamenting her bad luck.

Trouble at Berkely @ 02:34 pm

[info]semievilgenius:

Today was starting like any other day for Maximillian Sivana. The walk from his apartment to class, the looks and mutterings of those who understood the significance of his last name, and the tedium of his classes. Some provided a bit of challenge or interest, but only for a time. As a result of his metahuman ability to retain information, it became obnoxiously simple to pass tests and explain things when called on. Add to that that Max was a prolific reader, he more often than not, knew the entire possible curriculum before the semester was even a quarter of a way through. Unfortunately most people assumed his boredom was due to arrogance. In truth, he knew nearly everything there was to know in his courses and rarely learned anything from the professors that he hadn't already read. The only real joy he got was on the rare occasion he got to debate what he knew with other learned individuals, like that girl he met in The History of Non-Violence. He believed her name was..Ruth? Yeah it was Ruth. Maybe he'd start a conversation, if for no other reason than to do something about the growing boredom he was experiencing.

A Christmas Angel, Baby New Year, a tiny George Washington and a Leprechaun walk into town @ 11:12 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

In the streets of San Francisco the people of the city went about their normal business just like they did on any other day. Cars moved in the streets along with the trolleys and people moved about on the sidewalks. Four individuals new to the city happily walked down the sidewalk. Each held a small bow and a quicker of arrows and all of them had smiles on their faces.

It was time for the people of San Francisco to feel the love.

They started shooting people with the arrows while not far away Boo and Bugsy watched with anticipation.

Another Homecoming @ 01:20 am

[info]young_swimmer:

Cait was enjoying her time living at her grandfather's cottage with Ty. The two of them were left alone for the most part save for the occasional visit by one of the townspeople who knew her grandfather and were just checking on her. They said Arthur Sr. would want them to check on his granddaughter.

Life quickly settled into a routine and Cait was happy. There was peace, quiet, Ty and no sign of Arthur. Life was good, but there was one thing nagging at Cait. She had been reunited with her Atlantean family, but there was one family she had yet to be reunited with. They were three thousand miles away, but it wasn't far for Ty.

Cait came down out of the lighthouse and went looking for Ty.

Let the Celebrating Begin! @ 10:01 pm

[info]5th_dimension:

Bugsy and Boo popped into the 3rd Dimension with a fanfare of trumpets followed by confetti and firecrackers. They arrived in an empty room.

"Huh? What happened? Where are Blue and Gold? This is the right dimension, right?" Boo asked as he looked around.

Flight practice (open) @ 09:53 pm

[info]loveconquersall:

Chrissy was still getting used to having the Star Sapphire ring. She had had it for a little over a month now, and parts of it were still new to her. With the help of her mom, she had gotten down making basic constructs... though the whole encasing people in crystals to "reform" them creeped her out just a little. She could see why they might have to do it...she just hoped that she never had too.

One thing she could definitely get used to? The flying. While unlike the rest of her family, she never saw herself as a pilot, but there was definitely something about being able to fly on your own that was awesome.

Which was why, the second that she had gotten out of tennis tryouts, she had snuck behind the school gym and slipped the ring on her finger, before taking off.

Chrissy was taking her sweet time getting home, flying over Coast City, enjoying the spring breeze and the wind in her hair.

[info]maidofmight:

Jo Kent is pretty sure her Mom and Dad do not know where she is right now. She doesn't think they'd necessarily be mad at her, but they would ask her the reasoning behind her choice. Dad might even wonder why she was choosing to this instead of trying to join the YJLA on a reserve basis. The reasoning behind it was simply.

If she tried here and failed, then it was because the group didn't see a use for her. If she went to the YJLA, Jo would never be certain that she got in on her own merits and not the fact that her dad and brother led their respective teams.

She noticed how tall the building and wished, once again, that she could fly.

So it was that Supergirl appeared in a red-blue blur outside of Titans' Tower in San Francisco and waited for someone to notice her.

Still Trying to Help (Open) @ 10:15 pm

[info]maidofmight:

Santiago, Chile- Ten Minutes Ago

She /really/ wishes she could fly right now.

Being able to run at super-speed is great, but flying just seems so much faster than running and Jo Kent has no idea why she hasn't figured this out yet. Jon was flying without issue by the time he was her age and she was struggling with it. She pulls the street punks away from the young woman and her younger brother, tossing them into trash cans and dumpsters. She figured it was nice than what most people would do to them.

"Thank you!" the young woman says. "Who are you?"

"I'm just trying to help." Jo says, unsure of another answer to give. "Now head home, please. And be careful."

Before the woman can speak again, Jo dashes off in a blur of speed toward her next destination.
