Monitor duty (open to Outsiders) @ 10:44 pm

[info]rightontarget:

While life had been keeping Lian really busy lately, she still managed to get over to Outsiders Headquarters for a couple of hours everyday. Between trying to find Donna and taking care of Alex, it was hard for Lian to try and find the time, but somehow, she still did. And even if someone wasn't around when she was there, there was a chance that Calypso was almost always there, as she did live in the basement.

Lian was currently in the monitor room, doing her shift of monitor duty. She had a cup of coffee in one hand, and was gently pushing Alex's stroller back and forth in the other, trying to get him to fall asleep. She loved her son, but he was a very lively baby. He gurgled happily as he was pushed. Lian laughed, taking another sip of her coffee as she stared at the screen.

Guess Who's Here(Open to Outsiders) @ 08:17 pm

[info]questionthis:

Max and Renee had spent some time working on his new persona. Had to make thing different enough in both how he moved and how he fought that people wouldn't be able to easily tell who it really was. He had even down some work to give himself a convincing Italian accent.

Now for the tough part he needed to attract Inter-gang's attention but it wasn't like he could just knock on their door and ask to join. Though there was something he could do.

There was a small time crime lord in Star City who had rather pissed of Inter-Gang. A real asshole by all accounts. While he kind of felt bad about doing it he could hand devilver him to the local Inter-gang people and see if that would work of an audition. Though what they would do to the guy was something he wouldn't wish on anyone if he was right about his guess and he prayed to god he was wrong.

Max made his way towards the guys strong hold in his new look he was wearing contacts to make his eyes brown and his hair was lighten to a light brown from his normal dark brown. His stride had an arrogance to it that he never usually had. He was dressed up in a sharp Italian look and had some weapons on him that he usually didn't and it felt very weird not to have his crossbow.

Max waited for the timing to be right before he would break hi way in kicking down the front door.

Down with the Religion of Crime @ 01:45 pm

[info]questionthis:

Max was in Gotham for a few days to talk to Renee Montoya. She had been a friend of the family for as long as he could remember and she had always been really nice to him. He hadn’t seen too much of her though since she had become the police commissioner for the Gotham PD. Once he was in Gotham he gave her a call and asked her if she had time to meet him for dinner somewhere as he had something very important that he wanted to talk to her about.

When they met for dinner Max told her all about what he had found out by himself and what him and his dad had talked about. Intergang was planning something big again and the religion of crime was definitely involved he didn’t know much yet but these guys were to fanatical to get the information slowly since usually when they planned something big those plans usually ended in a very large bang.

Max knew Renee had some bad history with Intergang and the Religion of Crime and that she was probably the biggest expert in them on the planet for the good guys. So he hoped that this would mean she might have some insight into how they could get the information they needed. They started brainstorming ideas as to how to best get the information on how Intergang was currently operating especially since Bruno was no longer in charge.

They came to the realization that they needed someone on the inside to find out the information they needed but getting someone to betray them wasn’t likely to happen given how fanatical most of these people are inside the upper echelons of Intergang.

But if they could get one of their own in on this then maybe they could get the information. Max then said well maybe he could do it he had the skill that he should be able to disguise himself as someone they would want and his actually looks were very different from his costumed appearance but he didn’t want to do that himself. Normally Renee would have looked for someone else to help out with this but Intergang was personal.

Happy birthday Max! @ 08:12 pm

[info]crossbow_bat:

Maria wasn't exactly sure what to get her brother for his birthday, but she had to get him something. She would have hand delivered it, but she wasn't sure she wanted to run into this world's version of her mother. Instead she sent him an Amazon gift card for 100 and a promise for dinner sometime.

Another Year Older @ 08:10 pm

[info]questionthis:

Max had let the Outsiders know he was going to be away for a while though didn’t really tell them why. He hadn’t spent much time at home in Hub City in a while so he was going back there for his birthday and father’s day. His mom was going to be so glad to have him back for a couple days.

He also wanted to talk to his dad about what he had found out after overhearing the dark bloody meeting. It hadn’t taken him long to find the chanting and had been right about recognizing it though that really didn’t make him feel better once he know what he was now dealing with, The Religion of Crime. This was some really bad stuff he had heard some of the stories from his dad when he had dealt with them and even those stories had been pg-13.

If they had as large a presence as they seemed to have in Star City than that meant they were definitely up to something and that could not be good. He had to do something but what he didn’t know which was exactly why he wanted to talk to his dad. He was of course not talking to his mom about this at all.

Bloodly Requiem @ 09:44 pm

[info]questionthis:

Max had briefly swung by to check up on Lian when Roy wasn’t around in costume of course. Alex was a rather adorable baby. He really hoped there was something he could find out that could help them figure out where they had taken little Donna.

He had gotten the scoop about exactly what had happened from people and some hacked security tapes and had spent a couple hours thinking through all of it in meditation. He hadn’t gotten any farther doing that than anyone else had. He had talked to some of his own contacts to see if they had heard about anything going on in the city that could be remotely related to this and made sure his dad knew about this to see if his dad that could find anything.

He had heard from one of his contacts about something was going on in Star City that might be worth looking into. It was a very vague tip about something big that might be starting up in Star City.

When he found the place of the meeting for whatever it was Max made his way inside through the upper windows and what he heard surprised when him. Chanting and a lot of it over a rather grisly scene.

That looks like more blood than could come from a single person, Max thought to himself.

He briefly debated breaking up this little gathering but there was definitely more people than he could possibly deal with himself. Something that they were talking about sounded really familiar to him for some reason. This would definitely mean research. But he wasn’t going to drag anyone else into this until he knew what this was.

Happy birthday, J'anna! @ 12:20 am

[info]rightontarget:

J'anna was one of Lian's best friends. So naturally, her birthday was not going to go unnoticed. And Lian knew just what to get her. Cookware and chocos. She'd gotten her a new bread machine. And while Lian couldn't cook or bake to save her soul, the bakery down the street from Outsiders headquarters could...and Lian had them make an entire cake out of Oreos. Well... technically, she had to get two cakes, because she knew that J'anna would eat the oreo cake all by herself. Lian got a red velvet for everyone else, as she knew that the oreo cake would be gone in a matter of minutes.

Lian placed the cake and the wrapped bread machine on the kitchen counter in Outsiders HQ. She'd told the rest of the team about J'anna's birthday.

Happy birthday! (April 22nd) @ 12:16 am

[info]rightontarget:

It had been tricky, but after doing a lot of digging, Lian had managed to find out when Calypso's birthday was.

And no, she did not attempt to bake a cake. The last time that happened...well it hadn't exactly gone over well. Her father still said he could smell the scent of charred chocolate cake mix in the kitchen. Instead, Lian had gone out earlier and sprung for catering and a cake at the bakery down the street from her apartment that she had taken Cal to when she was living with her when she first arrived in Star City.

For Christmas, Lian had gotten her a cellphone. This time she bought her some new clothes. Yes, she was on a budget, but she did manage to get her friend a couple of nice outfits.

Lian told the other Outsiders that she planned on celebrating Calypso's birthday and were welcome to celebrate with her, if they wanted to. She set the food out on the kitchen counter and went to go find the birthday girl, gift in hand.

The Big Finale @ 09:18 pm

[info]dc_misc:

The city of Star City looked deserted. The citizens had either fled or had been turned into black lanterns. At the heart of the city was the entity known as Nekron. Nekron used the city as his base as his black lanterns ravaged the Earth.

The black lanterns increased their numbers each day and the power levels of the black lantern battery increased with each person that died.

Soon Nekron would have enough power to obliterate all life on this planet.

"I was just attacked by zombies." "Really? You too?" @ 01:17 pm

[info]rightontarget:

Damien had gone with her to about a couple of blocks away from Outsiders HQ, leaving Lian to make the rest of the way by herself. Lian moved slowly, keeping an eye for any of the things that had attacked her and Damien.

When she got to Outsiders Headquarters, the first thing she noticed when she walked into the building was that it looked like it had seen a beating. A pretty big beating. Also, she had to hold to something to keep from wobbling and falling over.

"Anyone here?" She called out. "Cal? You around?" She normally was.

Jingle Bombs, Jingle Bombs @ 10:02 pm

[info]dc_baddie:

Robo-Santa had escaped control of the rogue government agency that had created him with a ton of weapons and his naughty meter that could detect who had been naughty or nice.

Flying on his sleigh lead by robo-reindeer he drops Molotov-Eggnog on down on to Star City as he falls the Naughty meter to the Outsiders headquarters.

Blowing open the main doors to the building he cries out, "Ho Ho Ho. You have all been very naughty."

The Final Act @ 07:54 pm

[info]dc_baddie:

"Well, well, well... Brion Markov, you have a bastard daughter. Who would have guessed, right?"

Frederick chuckled as he paced back and forth. Behind the plate glass window, locked in a shuttle, were Calypso and Brion Markov. Frederick took the time out of his day to mock them from the control center. He had figured out the relation between the two heroes some time ago, and it was a point of pride for Frderick that Brion hadn't known until just that moment.

"And now that the two of you are helpless, I'm going to make sure you really leave this world. My mother was the one that gave Geo-Force his powers, Brion. I know exactly how to kill you, and your daughter. Oh, how I anticipate your dying words. What kind of touching moment will it be?"

He cut off the transmission for the moment and cackled. Then he checked in his new motley crew of Geo-Force mock-ups.

[info]crossbow_bat:

Curiosity killed the cat and it drew in a bat.

Maria had been curious about her brother, half-brother, since Bruce had mentioned that she had one. Maria had tried to resist the lure of curiosity, but it had eventually grabbed her enough that she wanted to meet him. She talked to Bruce and he had been nice enough to call Max to set up a meeting and make travel arrangements.

The flight was a commercial flight, first class though, to Star City. Maria had checked into her hotel and then taken a cab to the cafe where the meeting was supposed to take place.

If she had to admit it, she was nervous. She didn't know how Max was going to take meeting new family from another dimension. Though maybe she could take the agreement to meet as a positive sign. It wasn't like she wanted to invade and take over or destroy his relationship with Helena. Maria was still unsure about meeting Helena, but she was curious about Max. At least she would get the chance to meet him. Then she would see where things went from there.

Maria tapped the table with an index finger out of nervousness and waited.

Deck the Halls (Open to Outsiders) @ 08:09 pm

[info]questionthis:

Max was in costume doing a little decorating around the Outsiders Base for Christmas. He still didn't trust any of them enough to tell them who he really was and had been careful to make sure that even Red Robin couldn't figure it out.

Max really liked Christmas and figured a few decorations  would be nice around the base. Currently Max stringing up a few lights in the rec room humming Christmas songs to himself.

After all is said and done....(open to Outsiders) @ 02:27 am

[info]rightontarget:

Takes place before Calypso leaves.

Lian surveyed the damage done to the Outsiders' base. While the place wasn't exactly in ruins, it didn't look like her apartment after she'd torn it apart looking for something she'd misplaced, either. Shards of broken glass here, a burnt table there.

She sighed. It was all replaceable. She could make a couple of calls and get everything fixed.

But she couldn't stay. She'd made a huge mistake, in going off undercover in the League on her own, without telling anyone. Yes, the team knew that she had been undercover, her and Tim made pretty damn sure to fill them in on that little detail when they briefed them on the League, but they didn't know the whole story. About her and Damien.

It was her fault that this had happened. Her fault that the League attacked.

Her fault that her best friend was dead.

She couldn't allow herself to put her teammates at risk like that again. She'd gather her things, make sure that arrangements for repairs were made, and then she'd leave, and they'd never have to see her again.

Anarchy @ 11:49 pm

[info]dc_misc:

"Coming to you live from the capitol city of Markovia is Darlene Johnson, of Channel 13 News. The deaths of Iona Markov, the Queen of Markovia, and her son, Gregor Jr., crowned prince of Markovia, has put the country in a state of anarchy.

"It appears that a group of men dressed like the hero Geo-Force have been patrolling the streets, causing more chaos and killing many people.

"And who is the one responsible for all of this chaos? Brion Markov, ex-Regent of Markovia. He was captured earlier, but has since escaped and his whereabouts are unknown at present.

"This is Darlene Johns- AAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

The TV screen went black and white with fuzz, and then switched to the anchors sitting in their seats, in shock with fear at the last image shown on the screen; a stream of lava dousing Darlene and the camera crew.

There will be blood @ 12:23 pm

[info]demonchild:

It was going to be a dark day in Star City.

Or at least, it was going to be a dark day for those that dared to tangle with the League of Assassins.

The plan was set in motion, and the League was on the move.

They each had their mission. Vesper had already done his part and freed Bane from where they had been holding him. The guards at the Super-Max were currently keeping their hands full with a full-prison riot. It had been discovered that Slade Wilson was no longer at the prison, having been broken out by a team of individuals sometime previous, though that was neither here nor there.

Getting a location for where Red Robin and his allies would be was difficult, but the Informant wasn't just your everyday run-of-the-mill hacker, she was one of the best.

And now, Morgaine, along with her brother's decoy and the rest of the League, were in a helicopter headed straight towards Outsider's headquarters.

"The plan is simple," Morgaine said, briefing her team for a final time before they began their attack. "While the Demon's Head has instructed us to kill anyone that stands in our way, we are merely providing a distraction while he rescues his Lady from her imprisonment. Do not hesitate do deliver a killing strike, but wiping out the entire team is not required of us at this time. We will keep them busy until the Demon's Head informs us that he has Lian, and then we will make our getaway.

Understood?"

A chorus of yeses arose from the team, and Morgaine nodded. "Excellent. We will be approaching the target shortly."

When the helicopter was in within range of the Outsiders headquarters, a rocket was fired at one of the windows. Not one to bring the entire place to the ground, but it would definitely set the alarms off, at the very least.

The team reached the drop off point, and the League of Assassins came in through the blown-out window. Morgaine pulled out both of her swords, a bloodthirsty grin crossing her face.

"Knock-knock."

Red Robin watches from the fire escape of the business across the street of Star City General Hospital, keeping an eye out for anyone who looks out of place. He sees Detective Falconeri of the Star City P.D. holding down the scene for the third night in a row, since Roy Harper was brought in with a gunshot wound. The shooting hadn't been publicized yet, hadn't hit any airwaves or made any headlines, according to the Detective. Someone high up in the government has called in favors to keep things under wraps. That was the first thing that caught Red Robin's attention.

Helios pulled upon his fiery powers and engulfed the plant in flames.

Hitting the dusty trail (open to Outsider's reactions) @ 01:44 am

[info]rightontarget:

Lian had been giving this some thought. Ever since she'd discovered that her mother was alive.

Cheshire needed to be stopped. While Cheshire was her mother, and yes, Lian did love her, and knew that her mother loved her in her own way, she couldn't just let her keep killing people.

She had to find. Had to make sure that she stopped her for good. While she wouldn't kill her own mother, she could at least make sure that she was put away somewhere where she WOULDN'T escape this time.

This was something she had to do on her own. As much as she trusted her new team, it was something she had to do with no help.

Besides, where she was going...she couldn't take her team. Hell, she couldn't even take her costume. Jade Arrow had to be left behind, and Lian had to become someone else.

Grabbing her bow and throwing knives, she left a note for the Outsiders.

Hey all,

I have to go away for awhile. I have family things that need to be taken care of, and I don't know how long it's going to take me. J'anna, you and Red Robin are in charge until I get back.

-Lian

Lian left the note taped to the fridge and left the building. She had a plane to catch.

Settling in (open to Outsiders) @ 11:57 pm

[info]rightontarget:

Lian had called in a favor to Uncle Ollie after her and the others had driven off her mother. Since she HAD saved his life (and the lives of his board members), not to mention that she may have dropped that she was starting a team and needed someplace for them to meet that WASN'T a rooftop, Ollie had given the Outsiders an old warehouse that he was no longer using for Queen Industries. Not to mention that she'd called a couple favors in with her "aunts and uncles".

So in other words- the Outsiders had one TRICKED OUT HQ.

Uncle Vic supplied the security system. Which meant that no one could really break in without them knowing...and without feeling really stupid about even THINKING to break in.

Dad had called in a couple of favors with the JLA and gotten them a fully stocked workout room, capable of catering to the team's various needs.

Uncle Ollie provided the means to refurbish the warehouse to include a kitchen, lounge (complete with a nice home theater system), and bedrooms in case anyone needed to crash overnight. While she didn't expect anyone to move in, as several of them (including her) had lives outside of the team, they at least had a place to stay if they needed it.

Lian wasn't wearing her costume. She'd told the team who she was. Her mask wasn't needed here. She'd commed them earlier and told them that the new headquarters was all set and the Outsiders were go.

Lian poured herself a glass of water and made her way into the lounge area.

(Timebendyed so anyone can be involved)

Jerry had heard that there was suppose to be an amazing meteor shower tonight and the best place to see it was in the Arches National Park in Utah. He had let dad knew he was going to spend the night there which his dad was totally fine with.

After teleporting in with some basic supplies he started looking for a good place to watch it from. Teleporting around the park he saw a mesa that looked like he could get a great view from. He snapped his fingers and appeared in a flash of green at the top of the mesa.

What he saw up there was something that he Jerry Carr had trouble believing. There was a organic looking machine with little robotic drones eating the rocks. And one charged right at him.

Quickly snapping both hands he teleported away and teleported a boulder right on top of the drone crushing it. Jerry let out a sigh of relief until he noticed that the drones were now eating the boulder and forming even more drones.

This was bad and Jerry knew he could not handle this by himself and felt that it would be smart to call in as much help as he could.

Teleporting back to his stuff away from the mesa he grabbed his cell phone and started calling all of the people he knew who were superheroes to get as much help as he could.

Go time @ 04:49 pm

[info]rightontarget:

bendytimed to the night after Cheshire fled Gotham

Lian, J'anna, and Calypso were at Queen Industries on stakeout. Or rather, on the rooftop across from Queen Industries, that is. Lian pulled out her night-vision goggles, as they waited for Red Robin to meet up with them. Lian had alerted him earlier on the comms that they were going on stakeout tonight.

She'd gotten in some more information about who they were looking for. From what she could gather, they were based from out of Gotham City, or somewhere near that area. Also, from what she'd picked up, they had added someone else to their roster. Someone who's methods were more...lethal than the rest of the group's. Lian had a sinking feeling of it could possibly be, but that was a big, fat, if. After all...she was dead, right?

"He should be here soon," Lian said, her eyes still focused on the building's windows as she looked for any unusual activity. "Keep an eye out. Then, we'll take it from there."

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad

In Gotham City @ 09:07 am

[info]dc_parent:

Cheshire, one of the world's deadliest assassins, made her way over the rooftops of Gotham City, silently and swiftly, to the Gotham branch of Queen Industries. The assassin had not been seen for quite sometime, which according to the man that had hired, had made her perfect for the job.

Cheshire had been assigned to take out William Connors, an associate and member of Oliver Queen's executive board. She'd take him out quickly, and then move on to her other targets. Her contact was paying her a lot of money to get this done.

When she arrived at her destination, Cheshire began to make her way towards the head office, disposing of any security guards that got in her way, keeping to the shadows.

But in Gotham City, someone is always watching for anything out of the ordinary....

Evil Brewing @ 04:07 pm

[info]questionthis:

Max had been tracking these low level crooks for a while ever since he let them escape from him. He could have taken them down easy but they weren’t his targets their bosses were. The police had yet to figure out that these seemingly random robberies and muggings were actually connected. It was a simple enough one to find once he started looking all of them went to the same coffee house. A guy who worked there checked people out for what they carried on them and would let the others know who good targets were. He always knew Starbucks was evil even if they weren’t related to each other this time for the crimes.

He was on the rooftops following the two muggers, they honestly believed that they had fought him off and escaped. Maybe he was a better actor than he thought he was and the faceless mask had to have helped, either that the guys were just complete idiots. Still this plan was to smart to be an idea from these low lives and he wanted to cut the head off of this operation as soon as possible.

Max was wearing a black track jacket, a white t-shirt with a black question mark on it and black sweatpants. All of that was color changing like his hair color due to a special chemical treatment that he and dad had made which changed color when treated with the same chemical gas cloud that he used to attach his mask. He also had a crossbow with blunt blots loaded into it with a couple of extra magazines and a small maghook. He was pretty well prepared to deal with typical low life criminals but he was going to case the place before he made his move.

It was about this time that the crooks he was chasing ran into an old warehouse which had been he had put on his list of highly likely places for their headquarters to be. From a nearby rooftop Max started to case the place.
