She Loves You @ 11:35 pm

[info]rannsofaraway:

The Darkstar's ship arrived to chaos.  A Thanagarian war-cruiser was in orbit around the Rannian colony would and what few defensive ships the Rannians had been able to field had already been blasted to scrap.  The real fighting was going on on the surface and sky of the world, Rannian-soldiers in rocket packs dueling with Thanagarians on the wing.

All this, the Darkstars could see from the bridge of their ship.

"By the triple-suns..." Aleea breathed.

Cry Havoc and Let Loose the Birds of War! @ 11:24 pm

[info]dc_baddie:

Beta-Rann 7 was one of several Rannian colony worlds, primarily noted for being a source of crystals that could be used in the manufacturing of zeta beam technology.  It was a hard place, and it produced a hard people.  They'd had to fight against the elements and the native creatures for what was theirs, and even against pirates and other scourges of the spaceways a time or two.  Once, its rough riding sheriffs even fought side-by-side with Adam Strange himself.

The years have been kind to Rann, on the whole.  The wars with Thanagar were long over, and Rann had resumed its rightful place in the galaxy.  And what was good for Rann was good for Beta-Rann 7.

Unfortunately, today was not going to be good for Beta-Rann 7.  The Thanagarian ships had appeared out of nowhere, slipping past their defenses with surprising ease.

Hundreds died in the initial bombardment.  And then the troops went in.

There was just enough time to send a distress call.

Space pirates attack! (Darkstars) @ 10:20 pm

[info]spacerthief:

She had been with the Blood Wings for a little over a year. A fun crew to run with really. They fought and partied hard. They didn't care that by her terms she was still a kid. But she was starting to hate the Captain. They barely got enough food to eat. They hadn't seen decent pay in a few months and Sher was convinced that the Captain was now clinically insane.

Smuggling themselves onto a Cerberus ship to steal it? Just sounded like a very poorly thought out plan. She had tried to protest but had pretty much gotten cowed into it no matter how hard she tried to fight it. She had been pretty much forced to do it or get spaced. She didn't want to die like that so she was just going to have to hope she could ditch them and get the hell off that other ship.

It took them thirty six hours to go through with the plan. She was helped out by a krogan who had a soft spot for the angry young Thangarian. He slipped her the weapons she loved and they just looked at each other knowing it was show time.

The proximity alarms had gone off.

"Let's rock and roll," the yellow skinned Captain barked pulling out her combat shotgun.

Entering Eden Prime @ 08:44 pm

[info]dc_misc:

A few days after the battle at Iagos, the Elusive Man calls for the team's presence in the War Room as they Normandy II makes its way to the Eden Prime system. They're a bit behind schedule for his taste, but he likes the reports he received of their battle at Iaogs. They fought decently as a team and accounted themselves well in saving the children being held by the slavers. The Elusive Man has his people looking out for the Black Sun Mercenaries and their operations now; if necessary, he'll have some of his other operatives begin to destroy their operation.

For now, the team needs to get back to work.

Iagos Incoming! @ 07:13 pm

[info]dc_misc:

The Normandy II enters the Iagos system, dropping out of hyperspace to reveal a green, blue and white planet that seems slightly larger than Earth, illuminated by a yellow sun. There is a sparse belt of asteroids surrounding the planet, and if one looks closely enough,  an asteroid falls toward the planet in random areas now and again. The crew members immediately get to their stations in order to calculate a flight path, analyze data and prepare Cyrus with any thing he needs to maneuver through the field.

Once the ship is through the asteroid belt, a summons is sent to each of member of the quintet, directing them to make their way to the Cargo Bay. Upon their arrival, Urdrex is waiting for them, along with five crew members who are each holding a Cerberus-logo admin suit, followed by black and red Cerberus body armor.

Once everyone is accounted for, Urdrex will motion for everyone to take a suit.

"You'll all wanna get dressed as the atmosphere here is hazardous. We're having some trouble getting the location of the mercenary base, so we may have to wait until we're closer to the planet before we can try again. The area where your special plant is is about forty human miles from the Mercenary Base. It's your choice on where you wanna start, but if those mercs are worth their salt at all, they're gonna have long-range scanners of some kind.

We can all take the shuttle down and hope it's enough to keep us off their scanners until we get what you all need. Then we proceed to the base and hopefully pick up the kid." Urdrex says.

Welcome to Omega @ 08:56 pm

[info]dc_misc:

Urdrex checks his weapon again and watches from his position next to Cyrus as the ship pulls into the fire red planet that is Omega. Urdrex has been here a thousand times, and somehow, the place never becomes any more pleasant. In fact, it really only seems to get worse. He'd rather not take the kids, but the Elusive Man wants to see all of them at once, all together.

He will call everyone to the Normandy's War Room while Cyrus getting the ship docked and ready to go.

"Okay, listen up. Some of you may not have been here before, so you need to know some things. First, keep the young ones, Cyrus and Mar'i, in sight at all times. Especially Mar'i. In fact, you'd do well to watch out, too, Katima. There are slavers here who wouldn't mind tryin' to capture and sell all of you off to harems on planets that make this one seem like a resort." Urdrex says, checking his weapons for the seventh time in two minutes. Anyone who knows him knows that this is the equivalent of him pacing the floors nervously.

"Go to the bar, ask for Aria, get into the Holosuite, and listen to the Elusive Man. Again, if you see a Green Lantern, do /not/ attract its attention. You see a Blue Lantern, do /not/ attract its attention.

Anybody got any questions before you move out?" he asks.

So This is What We've Got To Work With, Huh? @ 11:24 am

[info]dc_misc:

The man known only as the Elusive Man sits in his chair on the other side of the holographic relay projector, his features wreathed in shadow except for two glowing emerald green eyes. He watches young Cyrus navigate the controls of the Cerberus Ship Normandy II  and admires the fact that the kid can handle it. That was good. After two billions credits worth of technological developments and upgrades, someone had best be able to fly that ship.

"Cyrus, you'll be under Urdrex's command while you two are recruiting the rest of the team. Don't take any unnecessary chances, you two. Find the people in the dossiers and get them to Omega as soon as possible; we don't have time to waste. Another colony has just been hit and if we don't do something about this soon, the rest of the universe is in a lot of trouble.

Are we clear?" the shadowed figure asks, sitting back in his chair.

Calling in Back-Up (Open to JSA) @ 10:00 pm

[info]warriorwilled:

Rex asked Aleea to take him to the Brownstone, rather than his place, or even  a hospital. He'd find a way to deal with the pain, but the important thing right now was finding Nicolette. He was still pissed at himself for letting Tharok take her and for losing in the first place. Now, he had to find her before Tharok decided to go after Mom and Carter.

Of course, if he called to warn them, he'd have to explain that Nic had been taken. Mom and Carter would be back in America so fast his head would spin, even if they had to fly across the ocean themselves.

Rather than start that chain of events, Rex limps into the Brownstone and starts looking for anyone who is around.

Thanagarian Invasion! Part 1: Hawk Vengeance. @ 07:17 pm

[info]dc_baddie:

There was a saying that revenge was a dish best served cold.  As he flew the night skies over St. Roch, Tharok began to understand exactly what that saying meant.  He had come to earth for one purpose and one purpose alone: to seek revenge upon she who had sullied his father's name and reputation--Shayera Hol.  Years ago she had been Thanagarian and loyal, an advance sent by the Thanagarian forces to assist in the invasion of the pathetic little planet Earth.  But she had betrayed Thanagar and betrayed the man she was bound to and the invasion force was sent back in shame.  None had borne the shame more than Hro Talak, Tharok's father.  The once-proud man spend the rest of his life disgraced, shamed, and shattered and Tharok refused to permit his father to die entirely a failure.  It had taken him years to work his way up in the Thanagarian forces and then years beyond that to convince the government to attempt a second Earth invasion but he had finally done it.  Tharok himself went first to gather information--and kill Shayera.

But upon arriving Tharok found something more interesting than just killing Shayera: her children.  A plot formed in his mind, one that would cause great suffering to Shayera, something that would haunt her the rest of her days.  MUCH more effective than killing her.  Rex Stewart and Nicolette Hall would pay for their mother's crimes.

Swooping down in the darkness, Tharok had gathered enough information.  Tonight was the night to act and with something of a gleeful smirk on his face, the true Thanagarian began to break into the Hawk's beloved museum.

The Darkheart @ 11:42 pm

[info]in_a_snap:

(Timebendyed so anyone can be involved)

Jerry had heard that there was suppose to be an amazing meteor shower tonight and the best place to see it was in the Arches National Park in Utah. He had let dad knew he was going to spend the night there which his dad was totally fine with.

After teleporting in with some basic supplies he started looking for a good place to watch it from. Teleporting around the park he saw a mesa that looked like he could get a great view from. He snapped his fingers and appeared in a flash of green at the top of the mesa.

What he saw up there was something that he Jerry Carr had trouble believing. There was a organic looking machine with little robotic drones eating the rocks. And one charged right at him.

Quickly snapping both hands he teleported away and teleported a boulder right on top of the drone crushing it. Jerry let out a sigh of relief until he noticed that the drones were now eating the boulder and forming even more drones.

This was bad and Jerry knew he could not handle this by himself and felt that it would be smart to call in as much help as he could.

Teleporting back to his stuff away from the mesa he grabbed his cell phone and started calling all of the people he knew who were superheroes to get as much help as he could.

So You're Back, From Outer Space @ 12:19 am

[info]rannsofaraway:

A rocket-pack wearing figure dropped out of the sky, and hoped she was in the right place.  This was the last address Nic and Rex had left, so hopefully she wasn't about to intrude upon someone else.

According to her father, there were things going on near Rann that he didn't want her involved in.  Again.  Never mind she'd been learning at his side since she was a baby.  Never mind that it was her world too.  Never mind that without her, they'd never have been able to stop the unthawed beasts from Rann's prehistoric past.

Nope.  The Hero of Rann had spoken and so she was beamed to Earth.  Money, Earth ID, a place to stay if she wanted it (her father maintained an apartment on Earth for emergencies), everything she could want.  Except for her family.  Not that the space wasn't a complete bad thing.  At least no one here thought of her dad the same way the people of Rann did.  Being the daughter of a planet's greatest hero was not nearly as fun as it sounded.

She removed her helmet and knocked on the door.
