"But it's not like that on the TV" @ 06:11 pm

[info]cantkeepmeout:

Slow night in Gotham. Not that he should be complaining about that, but it did mean he was left to pretty much crouch menacingly on a rooftop with the cape whooshing about for effect. At least, that's what it seemed like, in reality he was just cold, and this position reduced how much he was exposed to the wind /and/ kept him warm. But you didn't admit things like that, it'd ruin the image.

So Thomas stays on that roof, rather bored and watching the street below. There wasn't much there except a small convenience store, family-owned dry cleaners, and a few small clothing shops, which was one of the reasons he didn't swing by here too often. The other being that this was close to the twins' neighbourhood so there was less need for him to cover it. Which was a good thing by the looks of it, there didn't seem much to do here.

Release from Arkham @ 08:29 pm

[info]dc_media:

"Welcome to Gotham Evening News, this is Harris Stevens with a breaking news report. After years of confinement within Arkham Asylum, Warren White, aka the Great White Shark, is being released. According to reports doctors had been keeping track of a steady improvement of White's mental stability. Doctors from metropolis and Star City have also been brought in, confirming Mr. White's newfound sanity. This scene was taken today at the doors of Arkham."

The view shifts from the newsroom to the doors of the infamous asylum. Several guards escorted a pale-skinned man, bereft of hair, a missing nose, and filed-down teeth. In contrast to the fearsome appearance the man gave, he looked calm and at peace, seemingly overwhelmed by being outside Arkham's walls.

"Mr. White's attorney has said that his client intends to reimburse the families of all those he stole from years ago, as his first step towards true penance. Given the history of incidents with released patients, Mr. White will remain under a period of outside observation to make certain his rehabilitation is genuine. We will keep the public appraised of the situation."

Gotham U (Bendytimed to first week of classes) (OPEN) @ 09:24 pm

[info]cantkeepmeout:

Predictably, when Thomas had ended up applying to colleges earlier in the year, he'd ended up in the business major. Not even he was going to deny Bruce's influence on that. Not that he minded, it was flexible enough and gave him space to dabble in both computer science and art history as he pleased, the latter he'd probably make a minor later on though.

The whole thing felt kind of funny. New universe, new school, new job, and well, okay fine, he didn't have friends. Maybe that'd change. But at least the internship gig in WE's security design department was more flexible than his job at the zoo, even if he would miss feeding those tigers.

Walking along with the sub he'd bought for lunch, Thomas strolls around campus looking for somewhere to eat.

Frosty the Snowman Was a Jolly Happy Soul (Independent) @ 11:16 pm

[info]dc_holiday:

Not everyone was a member of a team, but it didn't mean they were alone. They had friends and family they would visit on this holiday. It could mean celebrating with one other person or it could mean celebrating with a group of people.

Despite the type of celebration the reasons were the same. People came together to celebrate in the season of joy and peace. They celebrated by exchanging gifts and being together.

Live From Gotham @ 11:23 pm

[info]dc_media:

"Today District Attorney Ruben Harrington said today that he is certain that the individuals arrested earlier this month on corruption charges will be found guilty after their trials of which the first starts tomorrow. The individuals arrested included prominent political figures including long time Gotham Selectman Stanley Morse and Selectman Terrance Bentley. The trial for Stanley Morse starts tomorrow and will be the first of many trials.

DA Harrington pledged to help clean up Gotham at the start of his tenure as district attorney and according to him this is just the first step. He has sworn that all criminals of all kinds, whether they be drug dealers or corrupt politicians, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and there will be no leniency. Is our District Attorney trying to singlehandedly trying to clean up Gotham? He hasn't commented on his view about Gotham's caped community or what he intends to do about them if anything."

We get the funniest looks from everyone we meet. @ 10:45 pm

[info]brotherkept:

They'd been at it for a week. Staked the neighborhood out. Seen that indeed, there was crime going on that the cops weren't able to handle, and the area seemed to be coincidentally skirted by most heroic patrols.

Then the fun started. Ezra even had a mask (it looked cool!), and he'd made sure there were plenty of nonlethal rounds for Evan to use if he wanted to do the standard gunwork he'd long been taught.

Over the next few days, the ER got a sudden influx of drug pushers, pimps, and even a couple of abusive fathers.
Nothing fatal. Nothing even that serious, but enough broken bones for the hospital to take notice, and word to quickly spread.
