With some assistance from T.H.U.N.D.E.R., the team managed to convince the Thai government to allow them to follow the August General's lead to Proteus' location. The area itself was the suspected headquarters of a Malay terrorist group, so the JLI was advised to be on the lookout, as it was suspected Proteus may be working with the organization.

 There were times that she hated this job. This being one of them, but this came from the top. They couldn't afford a blow like this to the still relatively new JLI project. She sent a message to the Hall of Justice to expect her arrival.

The winter wind had a sharp bite to it and the cold rain made the day that much more miserable. The small canopy set up over the grave site did little ward off the rain. The weather fit Maria's mood perfectly. The graveside service had just wrapped up and the coffin had been lowered into the frozen ground. The other mourners were heading to the warmth of their waiting vehicles.

Maria didn't seem to notice the wind and the cold rain as she stood as still as the many statues that dotted the graveyard. Her mother was dead. Victim of bombing. It happened too close to the breakout at Arkham to be coincidence. Maria knew one of the escapees was responsible, she just had to find out which one.

She stared at the coffin sitting in the ground.

In the back of her mind she knew Bruce and her father were waiting in the car, but she just couldn't move.

The JLI had a little downtime, but it wasn't going to last. Explosions went off outside and the ground shook. When the JLI go outside they would see giant robots attacking. Two of their members were missing.

It had been a long fight with the Cadre, but in the end the Justice League International had won. The Cadre members were in jail and life went on. Dex grabbed a beer and kicked back on the couch in front of the tv.

With a big gala for MSF coming up, Barbie was looking in the mirror a little more lately. And considering... Well, what harm? Barbie knocked on Pippi's door.

Not long after breaking the connection from Riley and Max, Dinah has set a land-speed record for getting ready for a date. A short time later, she was waiting outside the restaurant for Riley.

She checked her watch.

For the third time.

"You'd think time travelers would know not to be late..." she muttered.

She really hoped Riley hadn't done anything crazy with Max.

...Okay, he probably hadn't.

April fool's day was not only a day that Annie and her father spent trying to out-prank each other, it was also her birthday. And the birthday of two good friends of hers, Barbie and Avia. So, Annie had decided that this year, she was throwing a huge birthday blowout for the three of them. After clearing it with Barbie and Avia, Annie had sent out invitations to their respective teammates, as well as the JSA, the Titans, and Cindy and her team, too. She'd spent the whole morning getting everything set up, and she'd gotten a giant birthday cake for the three of them. Annie looked over everything, making sure that everything was set up while she waited for everyone to arrive.

For comfort's sake, and because Barbie could always use keeping her practice up, while he was getting plenty of practice already, they spoke Mandarin.  She held up both closed fists as she sat across from him.  "Pick one."

Well, it was strange to be standing there. It was so very muggy there, a far cry from Kiev even in the summer. The heat was oppressive, especially with Oksanas thick uniform (her military uniform, *not* her hero uniform) as she walked into the large building known as the Hall of justice. She knew that she had been accepted, but nothing much beyond that. So she had a bag (which had two spares of her actual costume) and an older uniform of her military days, complete with her standard red beret denoting her Ukranian special forces.

Once she is within the building and passes the necessary security precautions, she's taken...somewhere. She has no idea of the layout of the building.

"Hello?" Oksana called out into the building. This was where she was to meet her perspective teammates, yes?

With Pippi's amazing luck, and Dex's Green Lantern handy-ness, it was not difficult for the heroes to mop up the remains of Kobra.  While the Serpent Supreme himself got away, they'd rounded up a great deal of the soldiers and scientists of the organization and seized the remarkable technology that had gone into the space station, including its teleport tech and its stealth technology.

All in all, Director William Vance thought, not a bad day's work.  Which was why he'd asked the heroes to stick around, waiting in one of the conference rooms in THUNDER's DC office.

"Firstly," he said, as he entered, "let me thank-you all for waiting.  I'm sure you've got... secret identity things to do.  Whatever it is you types do when you're not saving this world.  I'm Director Vance, of THUNDER, The Higher United Nations Defense Enforcement Reserves.  We were formed to help pick up some of the slack left behind when the Dome and later the old Justice League International dissolved, in providing global coordination to super-heroes and otherwise facilitating handling various international terrorist organizations such as Kobra or the 1000."

He went on.  "You people did good work out there today.  And my superiors have authorized me to offer to continue to let you do good work.  THUNDER would like to be in the League business."
