To Warriors: @ 03:15 pm
lantern_kid:
It's not often that Henry has nothing to do. But for once, each of the other three usuals around his house are busy, and he's done with his chores and homework. So Henry finds himself at Warriors this evening, where he sidles up to the all-ages bar to get himself a root beer.

It's Friday Night: Do You Know Where Your Superhero Kids Are? @ 08:07 pm
lantern_kid:
Henry grins as he makes certain the bowls of chips are filled. Sodas are available. He's got a hidden stash of beers in his room, but... it's an underage superhero party. They're not visible to most. Those who want one will know to ask him. People will be arriving soon. He's got tunes, he's got snacks and drinks, he's got games set up to go, and he's got superhero kids coming from all over. While the primary purpose was to make certain the YJLA got a chance to meet Avalon and Josh, the Titans and others have all been invited, too. This party will rock.

All-out War at Warriors @ 11:12 pm

Unlike most of New York, Petra loved her job. It wasn't for getting special treatment or anything for being the big boss' daughter, she'd put a stop to that the first time she got a hint of it. It wasn't the tips, although she'd long since established the perfect margin for cleavage, skirt-length, and makeup to maximize them. It was being part of the family business. Daddy had turned one bar into a mounting international franchise of upscale but still family accessible bar-and-restaurants. Interplanetary, actually, considering there was one on Oa as well. Her job was her pride and joy, waitress or not. That and her collection of boots anyway. And boy was that about to be tested. It turns a few heads at first as some brightly dressed individuals enter the place, but it's not so uncommon. Plenty of regulars come in costumes of their favorite heroes and villains, or make their own togs. It's when the occasional use of tech or metahuman powers starts getting noticed that some people start asking for their checks. Soon, the place is emptying out in a slow but noticeable flow of customers. Then one of the other waitresses, and a waiter as well, both of them rather fetching, get pulled in to sit with them at the large booth they're taking up like a mentally imbalanced football team (bit repetitive there, but still). Petra scowls, cracks her neck, and strolls over, pulling Tara and Byron out and shooing them off. The air starts to get colder around her. "Alright guys, your drinks so far are on the house, if you clear out right now. No need for this to get uglier than you sitting down already made it."

Over My Head @ 11:36 pm

If someone were to ask Dinadan Palmer what his favorite part of the week was, he’d tell them Friday afternoon; specifically late Friday afternoon when the school week is over and he’s finished his weapons’ training for the day, and the weekend stretches out glorious and free ahead of him. It’s exactly that time now, and he feels at ease with his world. He weaves a little as he walks to his bedroom, since he hasn’t quite mastered the art of walking and towel-drying his hair at the same time, but he doesn’t knock into anything or trip over his own feet (today), so it doesn’t really matter. He reaches his bedroom and tosses the towel into his laundry hamper, flicking on the radio for some music while he gets dressed and makes plans for his freedom. This is ultimately why Dinadan is playing air-guitar in his underwear when Henry puts his plan into action.

Big Girls Now @ 09:27 pm

"So... can we do this again sometime?" The young man asked Petra as he was stepping out of her apartment. "Oh sweetie..." She pinched one of his cheeks, holding a towel with her other hand. "You barely did it this time. Take care." She blows a kiss and shuts the door, sashaying her way back to the phone as she can see the slack-jawed shock in her mind. Daddy had slipped her the number of a friend's kid who was living in the city as well, and she owed her a get-together. Good to make more friends 'in the biz' as it were. She dialed up Traya Smith.

Justice League @ 06:19 pm

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.Christmas Day is a Christian holiday, it's true, but it also has become increasingly secular. It is an opportunity for love, charity, and goodwill. There is some debate within mystical circles if there is indeed such a creature as the embodiment of Christmas Giving known as Santa Claus. But whether or not there is such a being, the spirit of giving itself is very real, be it incarnated in a fat man in a red suit or not. Throughout this small blue planet of Earth, people have brought trees into their homes, decorated them with lights and ornaments, and placed them in locations of honor. Stockings have been placed on the chimneys. And gifts have been placed under the tree. Some are looking forward more to the receiving than the giving. But for many, it is the act of giving which warms them, which fills them with the holiday spirit. Each person, in their own way, becomes a part of this spirit of giving. Each person, in their own way, becomes Santa Claus. The Watchtower of the Justice League is not easily seen by passersby. Despite this, it is lined with a number of Christmas lights, thanks to certain spacefaring members of the League, while inside, decorations fill the common areas. As for the League members themselves...
