Meeting of the minds
Bruce Wayne's secretary, Ms Jane Johnson, sat at her desk typing away furiously. She had a lot of work to get done before Mr. Wayne's one o'clock meeting with a new potential business partner. She did not know much about him, other than that he was a very young man with supposedly a lot of good ideas for Wayne Industries and the company he represented.

In between working, she looked up to see a man standing in front of her desk.

"May I help you?" She asked coolly. No one got to see Mr. Wayne without going through her first.

Batman threw up his arm, coughing at the smoke.

"Damn," he muttered under his breath when the smoke cleared and Lady Vic was nowhere to be found. Bruce was safe, and that was what was really important, yes, but they could have figured out who she was working for.

He quickly looked at Bruce to see if he was okay before exiting the way he came, through the window.

Terry then took the same precautions of changing out of his costume and putting his clothes back on. There was a small cut on his arm...Lady Vic had gotten him with her dagger when he least expected it, but other than that, he was fine.

He ran back to board room, appearing to be out of breath.

"Police...are...on their way," he said, looking around at the room.

"Is everyone alright?"

The board members then launch into Batman must have been informed, as he saved them all from certain death.

If she was going to kill him, she would have done it. She wouldn't have just stood there. So for that reason, Bruce actually gave Lady Vic a smug smirk.

But even then, his mind was racing. His paranoia always kicked in. By the time Terry and gone and outfitted himself for the fight and come back, Bruce was staring at "Daniel Willard". His eyes were trained on that boy the entire time.

He was going to have a thorough search on this guy and any connections he had with this woman.

"Terry," Bruce said. "We're leaving. We will not be in need of a partnership with Dynamix Ltd., Daniel Willard."

And with that, a perfectly calm, yet suspicious, Bruce Wayne stepped out of the meeting room. Something told him this kid had just learned something he shouldn't have.

Daniel Willard played his part to a T. When Lady Vic arrived, he hit the floor like everyone else, though he did look around to make sure no one was hurt, including Mr. Wayne.

Daniel also noted when the assistant said he was going to get help. He couldn't help but notice how certain the young man seemed that help would be near enough to save all of them. Lady Vic could have killed everyone in the room by the time Terry got back with security.

Of course, when Bruce Wayne smirked at Lady Vic, Damien /knew/ that the old man wasn't expecting security to show either.

Cue the Batman's appearance. Batman fought against Lady Vic with skill, but nowhere near the kind of skill from Grandfather's stories, or even the ones Father told.

Then Lady Vic and Batman were both gone and "Terry" returned, out of breath and saying police were on the way. Of course, Damien knew just as well as Terry knew that there was a phone less than ten feet or so outside the office. The secretary would have called the cops if she'd seen anything through the open door.

And Damien notes a hint of blood seeping through Terry's shirt on the arm where Batman was cut only moments before.

Ah. So the mantle has finally passed, has it? Damien thinks.

When Bruce Wayne immediately rejects their deal, Daniel Willard looks shocked, and maybe even offended, though he says nothing. The board member who'd invited Daniel to present says that he'll talk to Mr. Wayne once he's less shaken.

Inside, the Demon's Head smiles. He'd never expected a deal with Wayne Enterprises, though such might have been amusing. All he'd wanted to know was already shown to him.

"Very well, Mr. Wayne. I am glad to see that you are all right." Daniel says apologetically.

"I did not know that Gotham could be so..random." Daniel says, turning to collect his scattered papers.

Soon enough, Damien's driver picks him up to take him to his penthouse in Gotham.

"It seems that the Bat and the Demon's Head will renew their rivalry for another generation." Damien muses, as the limo leaves the area.
