"The night my place burned down, I was asleep. Like, out cold. I didn't even realize the apartment was on fire until I woke up. But the only reason I woke up is because someone was talking to me." Mitzi says.
"It was a woman, and it /wasn't/ my mom. She told me that I had to get out of the house and go. So I did." Mitzi says.
She pauses, taking a deep breath as she brings up the next part of the story.
"While I was standing outside with everyone else from the building, I saw someone in the crowd I'd never seen before. I tried to follow her, but she vanished. That's when I went to the diner and called you, Iris. I thought maybe I was going crazy until the other night, when I saw her in your house, Iris. I got up to go to the bathroom and she was in your living room." Mitzi explains, fidgeting a little nervously.
"Your mom was sitting on the couch and the woman was between us, and it looked like she was trying to say something, but I couldn't hear her. When I asked her what she was saying, Mrs. West thought I was talking to her. She came over to me and walked /right through/ the woman.
I think I'm seeing dead people." Mitzi says finally.
